Just paid 65$ after tax for a brand new Canon lens EF 50mm f/1.8 II.
It's currently on sale for 99.99$ at Gosselin Photo in Laval, QC (in-store only, until July 30th) and you can apply a 50$ off coupon that was on page 10 of yesterday's Journal de Montreal (July 26th)...

Maybe PM opportunities for someone, at least for the 99$ price tag?

Can anyone recommend a camera in the <$300 Range? Thanks!

Used last generation cameras (have to buy with a camera geek friend though, so it can be checked)
Two-three generations old Used pentax bodies offer especially good value as their prices drops like rock. (check used prices for "k-x" - not "kx"!)
Another option would be one of the first gen mirrorless cams, some of which like the panasonic gf1/gf2 goes for 200 ish pre tax these days
_______________
WANT TP BUY TOUCHPAD 16G or 32G PM in Halifax, NS. PLEASE PM!

That's a sick deal! I would've bought it just for the heck of it.... but too late now.

Canon SX150. Great camera. Only downside is slow flash recharge times. $179 at Amazon Canada.

Useless advice. He asked for the best camera deal for under $300. There's no way you can get a S100 for anywhere near that price, it's usually $400+.

Yes way... TD Rewards had them for $225 as a Red Hot Deal of the Day. But of course you'll need a Delorean and a horseshoe up your a$$ to win the chance to buy it. :-)

Or get a S95 - image quality is just as good if not better (I loved our S95 until it was lost, now we have a S100) only lacks the auto-focusing in video mode and 1080 - picture quality wise is just as good and they're cheap now. Highly recommend it.

is $1100 for canon 60d 18-135mm a good deal? or better to pay a few extra bucks for the 18-200mm kit?
