It's early days. Give them a chance to catch up with the bug reports. IMO the free Canadian phone number gives them a huge advantage over Skype et al because you can, in principle at least, use that number instead of your cell carrier's assigned number. That may not be a big deal for those on expensive cellphone plans with large or unlimited monthly minutes but for those on PAYGO prepaid with 25¢/min out and in, that feature is very important.
When they get this working on SO/PCM's $10/month UMB it will mean an almost fully functional smartphone with voice and data for ~$120/year. That will be awesome._______________

This is a short story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about this, because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
Which Person are YOU!!!

I like Viber, but it is limited to other iPhone users that have the app installed, so that very much limits the usefulness. It was great when my dad was in Jamaica for a couple months, that we could talk for free. But since he didn't have data down there, we had to limit calls to when he was on wifi (actually, I can't even remember if Viber works over 3G, but I think it does).

Is this true of Skype and not Dell Voice:
If you have peerblock on while using skype you will get some VERY surprising people accessing your computer, lots of gvmnt ip's from different countries as skype uses p2p technology to work so other people messages are being routed through your connection.

It is, I had to do this with FreePhoneLine.com. But, the wording on Dell Voice is a bit confusing too. Click on Settings > SIP and it says pay $50 to be able to port your number, but they don't mention the $25 admin fee to do it. The reasoning they gave me for having to unlock it is, that they need to tie the ported number to some kind of billed account and apparently signing up for a number isn't good enough.

No issues here. Running it on Galaxy Nexus. Maybe its with iOS/iPhone?
See above :P Just kidding.
Just to clarify, ther is an app called “groove IP” that works in Canada and is EXTREMELY useful.
It uses the gmail calling function from a PC…but you use it through your phone. The app specifies that it’s a “google voice” app…but if you log in from canada…you can place outgoing calls for free in north america with only using data (you just can’t receive calls since we don’t have a google voice number)_______________
