There's no code required. There's even an add for it on burger king site

Most likely to introduce their new fries. I remember them doing this 15-20 years ago when they had changed their fries and you just had to walk in and order the free fries. No purchase necessary.

I read the print carefully based from their site and its a trap:

No PURCHASE NECESSARY. One free SMALL SIZE French FRY per person. While supplies last.
