I'm guessing they think they've leeched out all the dealers with their 2 for $60 so they can post this deal now.

For $40, you can assume it's going to be a LEAN list of games though.

I don't know what FS is thinking. How they are making money by doing this is beyond me.

If these type of trade deals continue, Fearless will never have to work another day in his life. :)
If the list is made to be all triple A games then they be selling it for $54.99 - $49.99. Plus those gift cards have to be used back at their store anyways.

People will complain they won't be able to profit (as much), but I actually hope they don't screw this up and this promo becomes a semi-regular occurrence. Getting $40 back, even if only on AAA new releases, is pretty hot considering FS is also selling new releases now for $40+tax with those tsilon codes of theirs, and most games are $40 within a month anyhow. If they can turn around and resell the games used at a profit, then all power to them.
:)

... Of course, I have no objections if they want to make the list bonkers and have it as a regular event.

I still think fs and bb might be selling used games overseas. I know their retail prices are sometimes 2x ours

Do we really have to care about how fs/bb to make their profit? As long as we can dumb our used games with better value, I guess that's all we care.
I've missed the last trade-in for the past 2 weeks, I think I have to act fast this time. Can anyone confirm if the trade-in one game for $40 will start Jan 25 or 29?

XBOX games are region locked and PS3 clearly prints the labels saying they're North American copies, so it's not overseas. Best you can do with out of the country is the US.
Same with DVDs: region locked. The DVD thing is simply a recycling thing or they sell it for pennies to some company like factory direct. The movies usually included with the DVD thing (at least in Canada) have usually been around $5-$6 before, so selling them for $5 (for the cheapest ones) probably isn't a big deal.

The green box right next to the hitman trilogy, translation of that is "Exchange 1 select game and get a $40 gift card".

Other than the ps3 comment (since the ps3 is region free so that doesn't matter) it makes sense.

Yes, except for 1 game, PS3 games are not Region locked, but why would an overseas audience pay for a used copy that's not from their region (i.e. only printed in English, no local language manual) unless it was significantly cheaper? If they make it significantly cheaper, there's no reason to ship them overseas :)
