Glad you found your answers then
Now that you mentioned it, I actually never tried to charge my Fascinate with the cube charger that came with it, I've been using the Gio charger for it (since it outputs the same voltage & current). Maybe I should experience with mine and see if it's less responsive when it's charged with that charger then.

For $300 give or take $30, I'd say go for it. I'd be happy with the Galaxy S II. It's half of what the Galaxy S III costs, yet still does everything that I would want from my Android phone. Note I'm using a Galaxy S. I don't see the point of getting such a powerful phone like the Galaxy S III.

I disagree. Refurb from Telus is basically another word for USED. The condition you get it in is generally worst than actual refurb productions from retailers/apple/etc and is much more like used. Of course you can get lucky but if the appearance matters, this is a much better deal.
As far as unlocking for Rogers, its very easy to root and use on the Rogers network. Think it took me less than 5 minutes (at least less time than our order of sushi to arrive) to do it for my friend a few months ago.

This phone will work right out of the box with PC mobile. There is no need for an unlock, however you can unlock it quite easily yourself. The first thing you want to do to unlock it is download the custom chainfire kernel and flash it to gain root access. Once you have root just download the galaxy s unlock app from the play store. Run the app and the 3 steps in the app. After that you are unlocked.

I think I'll pick this up for my wife. The best part of the deal is if you pay with a gold card you double the warranty so no headaches for two years at about the same price as a used model.

Does anyone know if this particular phone has NFC on it? I got the impression from Wikipedia that this one has NFC but I can't find any proof of that.

If it the same SG2 as Bell (which I am 99% sure it is), it won't have NFC. This is likely an i9100M, not a i9100. The only difference between the two being that the i9100M lacks NFC and was released only for Bell.
For the glitches mentioned earlier, I don't have any of those issues with my GS2 (originally was on Bell). It is running ICS 4.0.4 on a custom rom and kernel so it might be linked to the software.
