Agreed. Even the new Malevolance set is same price...but has 300 more pieces. Wtf??!? Gotta be a minifig thing.

Just went to my local SEARS and all LEGO (in fact, all toys!) were discounted by 40%.
The sale doesn't seem to apply to online purchases.

I just ordered the Technic motorized excavator (8043) from amazon.co.uk. It's listed on sale for £119.50 (16% off) but without VAT it's actually only £104.53 shipped, which is $163.17. Sure beats $199.99 + tax from TRU.

Is this online, or did you see it in a specific bricks-and-mortar location (they don't always clear the same stuff in the same locations - so that info would help).

I've been seeing this in my local Calgary NW store since at least June...they still aren't moving.
Still think it was horrible of them to make these without the ability to transform. They would've been gold otherwise.

+1
They aren't moving even at $25, though about getting 1 just for the hack of it but after reading so many reviews that it's not even worth $25 to me!
If it was closer to Lego quality, even if it can't transform, I'll still bite for $25, but since it aren't even close I won't bother even if it's $10-15!

Not sure if I should be linking here, but Sears is having an in-store sale. 40% off toys including Lego.

At Metrotown (Burnaby), they had lots of Star Wars sets (reg $60+) for 40% off. e.g. Palpatine's Shuttle, Darth Maul Sith Infiltrator, Arc-170 Starfighter, T-6 Jedi Shuttle.

Saw one of those Kreo Optimus Primes at the Woodstock Walmart on Sat on clearance for $20. Too bad it's not Lego, but the kids seem to like them. Mini figs are horrible
quality.

Mastermind Toys is having their Summer Warehouse sale. Don't know if it's been posted but saw 7189 (Kingdoms - Mill Village Raid) was on sale for $62.97 (reg. 89.95). Possible free shipping on orders over $75 pretax. I ordered one + small toy to get the free shipping so will see how this offer turns out. They had 9 other Lego-related items on sale up to 30% off but none of these interested me.
NOTE: this was final sale and they indicated no returns unless product was defective.
- Power Miners watch (24.95 -> 16.22)

A couple of finds for Walmart clearance:
Markville Mall Walmart has 3368 Space Centre on clearance for $60 (regular is $90). There are at least 3-4 of these sets. The price tag on the shelf is still the full $90 but scans at $60. Tempted by the price but having Shuttle Adventure already, I felt this was somewhat redundant and inferior (albeit I realize this one is aimed at a different age group compared to Shuttle Adventure/Expedition).
The Walmart beside St. Jacobs (Kitchener/Waterloo area) has one 5891 Apple Tree House that is being sold for $40 (regular price is $60). It scans for $50 but it is stickered at $40, and they're willing to sell it to you for $40. I was also tempted but didn't like the set enough.

I swung by the Lougheed Mall Walmart and got 3367 Space Shuttle for $25.00 (regular $39.99). Think I lucked out and got the last one. Otherwise, didn't see much Lego on clearance at all. They had lots of 5770 Lighthouse Island left which was $40 down from $50. Large chunks of the toy section were a mess. I only found which sets were clearance by running them under their price scanner.

Collectable Minifigures Series 8 is starting to hit Wal-Marts, for anyone looking for it. Got mine from Wal-Mart Regent here in Winnipeg. $3.28 per bag.
Also, Magic Magnus will be getting Series 8 next week, if you prefer getting the figs through Bricklink (which is what I'll be doing -- I actually just grabbed singles of figs I wanted extras of from WM).

There's an app for that.
I find it very useful for comparing with rrp (which is why I wrote it!).
