Do you have any credits on Voice plan, data plan or value pack? It does not add up to $35.08 ?
You can start from this plan and ask bluntly about ability to call other Roger clients, R2R should not be that of a challenge to get.
For the LD, do you have any LD overcharge recently? it could help. It is either 100 LD or 1000 LD from retentions, there is a $5 option for 100 LD.
For data, you could get 500 megs for $25 - $10 credit = $15, which is same price point as 150 megs. Useful for iPhone especially.
For HUPs, if you don't use them, you lose them, so basically you should get iPhone 4 at new customer pricing. Get iPhone 4, not iPhone 3GS, the price difference is worth it.

Did you compare with Bell or Telus current offers ?
Are you out of contract ? (If you still are, how many months left?)
Did you speak about which phone you want (please don't) ?
You can get credits for $17.50 plan, but it's not easy, you might be better with a $25 plan with more credits.
How much data do you want?
There lacks some info to know what is next.
Videotron's 3G+ network launch soon could help (in about a month).LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked cashinstinct for this post.

Do you need My5Canada? Would 100 or 1000 LD minutes be enough to cover your LD needs?
You could get 100 LD for $5 (and get it credited) or even 1000 LD minutes for $10 - $5 or $10 credit.
Your $35 voice plan does not help you. It's a high voice plan considering you don't have any credit on it.
You could get a $25 voice plan or even $17.50 plan.
For Data, since you have $15 credit, I don't know if it can be moved to another data plan (example 6 gigs for $30 - $15 credit = $15). You should ask.Last edited by cashinstinct; Aug 10th, 2010 at 07:42 PM.

I'm not sure about credits - the rep didn't mention it. I just wrote down exactly what she mentioned. Does it look like I do?

I go over every other month or so for LD but just a few bucks each time. This one is just a nice to have for me, not a must...I'll try for it next call.
Too bad about the HUP but that's my fault - will definitely take advantage from now. $159.99 is not bad and I suspect if it's a good phone, I'll use up the data easily! Will try for the 500mb w/ credit like you said and report back soon!
Thanks again! Really appreciate your help.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked azia for this post.

Hey guys,
My 2nd year on my contract is about to come to an end in november. It is a 3 year contract, and I am eligble for an upgrade to an iphone 4.
Im currently on a family plan with no data. I have 600 minutes, my 5 canada wide.
One of the phones has call display, call waiting, voicemail, and 2000 txts.
For 3 phones we are paying $120.80 plus tax... which comes up to 136.52...
I want to switch the last line to an iphone 4 (16gb) and get a good plan with 6gb data. (I currently have an N95 8gb)
Can anyone give me some tips as to what I should say?
Thank you.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked iclutcha for this post.

Renewed one of the lines on my account that still had 2 years left:
$25 monthly fee - 250 Daytime minutes, Unlimited from 6PM + 100 bonus minutes
$2.58 - government regulatory fee
$10 value pack - 2500 text messages/Voicemail/Caller ID
$15 data - 50MB Blackberry data per month
$5 long distance - 1000 Canadian long distance minutes (I had this on the line to begin with, so it stays at $5 as opposed to $10).
$5 rogers to rogers calling
- $10 data credit
- $5 plan credit
- $5 long distance credit
- $5 rogers to rogers credit
- $3 value pack credit
- $3.75 15% bundling discount (15% off the monthly voice and data fees minus monthly voice plan and data credits, so 15% off $20)
Total = $34.84 taxes in.
Oh, and a 9700 for $99+$35 administration fee.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked JT94 for this post.

I'm still on contract, have about 6 months left.
I mentioned that I wanted data, and when asked if I had one in mind, I said I was still deciding, so didn't say really say anything on it
in terms of data, I just want enough for some simple browsing from time to time on the bus.
Also, I didn't compare with plans from other companies because I couldn't find any to compare with, should I just embellish on what is offered by other companies?

For next time, you should ask if you have credits, to know the offer in more details.
EDIT: Considering $17.50 + $10 + $15 $2.58= $45.08, seems like you have a $10 credit somewhere to get to $35.08.
You could certainly get 100 LD free (instead of $5 price). You should say you would want your plan to meet your needs and having LD minutes would help, something like that, considering you have overcharges because of it and you don't like your bill to be unpredictable.
For HUPs, better use them, you can always take the phone and sell it if you don't need it (not for now, but for next HUPs).
500 Mb can be used easily for an iPhone,
EDIT: I think you will appreciate it to be able to use many functions of the phone without too much worry. 6 gigs for $30 would be y our best pick for never-think-about-overage, but it won't be easy to have a low-price plan in the thirties-early fortieswith 6 gig, it can be done (see others plans posted).
Good luck.Last edited by cashinstinct; Aug 10th, 2010 at 08:49 PM.

With only 6 months left, you're in good position to say you would want to cancel your plan. Did you ever threat to cancel? Maybe they think you won't cancel.
For data plan, 150 megs for $15 seems enough for your needs, but 500 megs might be better if you want to use music-video on bus.
Offers from competition right now in Quebec:
- Bell offers $15 off a plan if you get Palm Pre, so you could get a 500 MB data plan with voice and blabla for $35 (instead of $50). If you had VM-CID to this, it gets under $50, look for Bell's thread on RFD or website for details.
- If you are in twenties, Student plans from Telus (Telus Student 40 or 55) can help, they are fully loaded plans with Unlimited Text and 10 Friends. You can say stuff like: I don't have these addons and I pay a similar price, I don't understand...
Do not embellish offers, I don't think it's worth it, agents know about offers from competition typically... if they call your bluff, they might write bad notes about you.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked cashinstinct for this post.

I have the $15/150MB plan on another line, but have the APN3CON code added to allow for BIS usage. Apparently they no longer offer the APN3CON SOC code, so the only BIS options are: $15/50MB or $25/250MB. That being said, some ARE able to get the APN3CON SOC code added. I didn't bother pressing them on it since I hardly push even 20MB of usage on my Blackberry.

Has anyone noticed wireless lines missing from their rogers.com online account? I can no longer see a couple of my wireless lines there - annoying because I'm not able to verify that they're giving me the plan they say they are until I receive my bill.
