well, everyone has brand preferences I guess. You can't say Sharp doesn't make good TVs though. Sure that was the case back in the CRT days, but Sharp is in the top of the heap for direct view LCDs. Sharp won a 2004 Technology & Engineering Emmy Award for Development of Direct View Liquid Crystal Display Screens. They've continued to improve the technology since then, and these 8th generation panels are even better. I am very very impressed with mine.

I want this TV. Missed the FS boxing day price of $1,499 on the older model 37" Aquos. I'm headed to FS to PM this evening.

I don't have my PC hooked up, I use the VGA in for my 360 so I can upscale DVDs to 720p.
Here are some shots, 360, Wii, and Cable.

360 at 1360x768

Wii at 480i

DVD upscaling from 360 to 1360x768

Digital Cable from QAM tuner_______________
Always in search of a great deal....

MrKAT.
I have owned BOTH. Sony and Aquos.
the Aquos is awsome.
option/menu and scrolling thru options are SLOW..
BUT: comparing pic quality.
the only better is XBR 2 and up..
so yes, I would compare a Aquos as having deeper blacks and better
contrast (noticably) than a bravia from personal experience...
This is a STEAL Deal, and when it is gone, people will be kicking themselves.!

visions...ya thats the bad thing - probably the last place on earth id wanna buy from
He said he would only give it to me at that price if I came right now, I said I cant. So I got him to hold one for me and said friday since thats when hes in next. Hopefully he will keep his word (im sure he will). Only bad thing is I hate visions, I know this guy is gonna try to shove their warranty down my throat
And i hope hes not going to force me to buy their warranty if I want it at this price. Its bit out of my budget but I dont think any other places will be able to offer me a lower price. Im checking out video and sound in the morning to see what the owner says, if not then Ill most likely head to visions friday afternoon.

Why do I have a feeling you won't and you'll keep giving us the play by play for years to come of your LCD hunt.

Take my word. Get to the store, get your price, get your TV. Once at checkout refuse to get the warranty and threaten to leave the store without it. you will be hassled for 20 minutes, the manager will even show up but if you stick to your balls, trust me, you WILL be out with your TV. But don't try to work anything until you reach cash checkout as they will try to frustrate you by running away. We all know, the money is in the warranty only. Only last thing I can suggest is, if you are ok to afford $100 for warranty, bargain to that point and Yes they will do it.

God awful day, what a waste of time. After today I will never lay foot in any future shop again for big ticket item. What a complete joke the morons working there, seriously. This ******* is lucky because if I wanted to make a big stink about it, I could get his ass fired, but meh theyre not even worth my time or effort in doing that. Why do I even bother walking into future crap stores? nothing but bad news everytime. I dont even know how this chain is even in business.
Whatever, I dont care anymore. It just makes me realize just how good costco is to shop at.
Btw this deal is dead, Future **** lowered all their prices to the bricks.Last edited by MrKat; Mar 8th, 2007 at 04:48 PM.
