Should this thread be switched over to the LC-37D62U now? It's $1499 on costco's website, but apparantely it's $1399 in store.

In had the same problem. I bought the TV on July 4th and went for the price adjustment on July 31. They gave me the same excuse that price adjustment will not be honoured if the item is not in stock. If I go to a Costco with the item in stock, then the price adjustment will be honoured. But, the nearest warehouse with the TV in stock was in Quebec. I asked if I could refund the TV and repurchase the returned item and thus get the price adjustment. They said no. They cannot sell me the TV I just returned, but I can refund the TV if I wanted to.
So that's what I did. I was pissed. What kind of lame policy is that? I packed up the TV, took it back, and was going to buy the TV from Futureshop, which was on sale for $1299.99 plus an additional $100 off for any TV over $1000 purchased online with a coupon code. I figure I'll get the Sharp warranty since Futureshop is an authorized dealer and I may get a free HD cable box for 4-6 months with my local provider.
Anyway, when I took the TV back, someone else was at the merchandise return desk. I told him I was returning the TV because his colleague did not honour a price adjustment earlier that day. He said as long as Costco will continue to sell the TV and that there are units on order (in transit), they will still honour the price adjustment. Since the computer says there are 8 in transit to the warehouse, he gave me the price adjustment. The person I spoke to was the supervisor of the return department. He had to give authorization by turning a key and punching in some code to the cash register. I got $100+GST+PST = $114 back on my AMEX and took the TV back home. The staff who processed my adjustment said: Next time, if you encounter a similar situation, make sure you ask to speak with a manager before having to physically take the item back.
This tells me one of two things...
1) Costco employees are not consistent with the company's policy.
2) You threaten to return the item, they will bend the rules and give you the price adjustment.

i think this TV is down to $1149 in the Ottawa area. Kanata.
I've asked this question on another thread but can closed captioning work while in 'component' mode (not TV mode) using component cables with this TV?

If anyone in the lower mainland wants one for $1099, I'm going to be returning mine when it arrives in the next day or two to Costco, as I was able to get a better deal at FS over the weekend.

I'm thinking of buying the Aquos from Costco, but....
Does anyone know how Costco handles their warranty?
On the website it said that Costco will refund the full price. But when I phoned a Customer Service Rep she said they'd only do that for 1 year.
Yet on RFD, I hear lots of stories of people returning their TV after more than a year if it breaks down. (Unlimited return policy)
Did they change their policy or do they just say the 1 year thing to deter returns??
