[Merged] ING Direct Promotion - 100$ when opening an account (ends Apr 30, 2012)
I searched the forum and found no posting about his
so I just received e email this morning from ing
saying in french
Ouvrez un Compte-chèques ENTR@IN et faites-y déposer votre chèque de paye d'ici le 29 février et nous donnerons 100 $ - automatiquement !
and english
Arrange for your payroll or pension deposits to go into your THRiVE Chequing Account by February 29th and get a $100 bonus*!
it's good but not as hot as the deal of the day last august from Ing direct.

It has nothing to do with opening a new account. You just need to transfer your payroll.

This reminds me of this "lesson" by Salmon Khan (Khan Academy). All three parts not just this one.

Setting up direct deposit for the Goods and services tax/harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) does the trick too?

Any user fee's for this account? Can it be a savings account only? I don't need a checking account.

no user fees. I've had a savings only account before, but you don't get a bank card. They only gave me a card after I opened a thrive account. You can't get this bonus with a savings account either, you need to open a checking account.

Where do you see the $50 sign-up bonus? Thanks.

You get someone who is already a customer with ING to give you a special Orange key. Then you get $50 and the person who provided the key also gets $50. I've referred my family members and I am already $150 richer.
I opened the Thrive account yesterday and printed out the payroll Direct Deposit form and gave to my boss today. I think it is worth the trouble for $100.
I am happy.

They have a separate promo for the High Interest Saving account. You get 1.5% on any balance. That promo gives you $50 when you open an account as a new customer with a referral key from an existing ING customer. Last day is 12/31. SO if you hurry, open one for yourself and get your Orange key. Then you might have enough time to refer your family/friends before 12/31.

My Credit Union only pays me 0.03% interest :-(.
Hence my signing on with ING for this Thrive account.
