I think the devs are already starting to come over. Appworld continues to grow ( I'd love to see the increases from a % stand point).
I also believe with rim's $10,000 gaurentee it will draw even more QUALITY apps.

BB10 looks really promising and I know RIM will have amazing build quality for their phone but the alpha device looks ugly as hell. I am hoping the London is dramatically different in a much better way.

Wow, BB10 looks better and better. I pray this is the break RIM needed to get back in the game.

I really do hope they make a very strong comeback. The dev units they gave out at their BB10 tour this summer looked pretty nice. Good build quality even for a final product. I didn't get to play with one for very long.
On the plus side, with the layoffs I have lots of parking at work now._______________

I hated the touchscreen on my Galaxy Nexus (and I still kind of do when it comes to typing), but the tradeoff is worth in imo. I'm looking forward to the BB10 devices, but they're going to have to be pretty damn impressive to get me away from my Galaxy Nexus. RIM will be facing a lot of stiff competition from the other companies out there when they get released, so even if BB10 is a good OS it may not be the savior of the company that they're hoping it will be.

They just need a strong app market. Seems like companies are already working together with RIM to provide some nice apps already including games. If iOS apps get ported over to BB, then RIM can get its foot back in the door.
They just shouldn't release more than 3 devices at most._______________

As a former long time BB user (for 8 yrs.. now on Android) I'd have to say no matter how good BB10 it, I don't think RIM stands much of a chance or being succesful or being in the top for 3 smartphone sales....this is primarily due to to lack of support and due to the miniscule app eco system and the fact that devs and corporations more or less are not making apps for their platform.
After using an S3 and seeing whats available and iphone I wish I made the change years ago.
Not sure if the smartphone market can't support 4 platforms at the moment there is some speculation that it may be saturated and could be shrinking, RIM would be a fighting for 4th place.
If RIM wants to remain relevant and risk dying they need to do all or any of the following: give thier phones away for free, license BBM, license/sell thier patents or merge._______________Ne0's Sales items: ♠ GamingDesktop

Wait, who or what is RIM?
I'm not asking that as a joke but in the last 6 months, all the tech world has been hearing about is Samsung/Android, Apple/iOS, Microsoft/Windows 8 and Nokia.
They have to make a nuclear explosion impact in order to get recognized again. Their marketing for BB10 has to be spectacular in order to get people into the hype because they've been dormant for awhile now.

RIM is going to continue on that death sentence no matter what.
I got friends who are anti apple pro BB fans, they all just bought a Iphone5. Sorry, RIM is too late to be saved. This is what happened
1) BB is a hit, Palm dies
2) BB is terms as crackberry
3) BB lags behind every generation, BB got a playbook lacking (RIM board in denial)
4) Grandma buys Iphone (not BB)
5) Core fans buys Iphone (not BB)
6) Businesses bail on BB
6) = death of RIM

I was thinking the same thing about how little we hear about what upcoming from RIM. We hear lots about unreleased Window phones from Nokia and HTC. We hear lots about upcoming phablets from Samsung. But little to nothing about RIM in the tech media.
I was talking to a person over at RIM today. He was mentioning how he wished RIM was ready to pull a rabbit out of their hat at BBJam and announce that they would be releasing BB10 devices early, maybe by Dec. He thought that would be the 'nuclear explosion' you mention to get them noticed again. I don't think that would be enough. At the very least, if they were to announce they were getting them out a little early and that was still just before of just after the holiday season, people would complain that they missed the holiday buying season.
I honestly don't know what can save them. I do hope they find the right formula in product, ecosystem and marketing._______________
