Moncler if you have the dolla dolla bills. Although I've been seeing quite a lot of people having it too. Not many as CG tho but still. It's around the same warmth as Canada Goose but it's more 'exclusive'.
Don't even bother with Moose Knuckle. They sell at P-Mall, meaning 100% made in china, meaning, I don't think it's worth the premium your paying.
If you can find a CG in your size now, get another one.

[Merged] Moose Knuckles
I've been asking in various threads but I guess I'll make my own since every other parka has its own thread already

Is this parka any good? I really like their Ballistic Bomber, I've been reading mixed reviews on it on here and over the internet. I've tried it on already and I think it fits and looks better than my old CG. Some like it, some don't I realized that ultimately it is my decision to buy the parka but I would like other peoples opinions as well. It would be nice if their parka's are a bit cheaper since they're a relatively new company but ah wells.
I'm looking at Arc'teryx as well does anyone have a warmth rating for these jackets?
Moncler looks so thin tho, how warm do these go?
If I can't decide guess I'll just go buy another CG muahaha
Any other companies that make nice warm parkas? I really dont like PJ's too many buckles and Marmot seems too puffy
Ps. if your going to thread-crap and tell me this parka is overkill for Toronto's winters take it to the Canada Goose thread

Most of Arc'teryx's coats do not offer warmth, it's more of a technical shell that offers crazy durability and being extremely light.
Though I have an Arc'teryx Alpha SV that I use year-round. For the rainy days, snowboarding, camping and just casual days where I don't want to look like a marshmallow in the winter.
It can be used all year long because it's so thin. In the rain/snow because of the gore-tex shell, can be taken snowboarding and you won't get wet. You can literally stand in the shower with it on and not get wet.
Cons: some preparation and more clothes is needed to wear it in the winter, you gotta layer in the winter to stay warm. A cheap base layer then a mid layer fleece does the job without looking like a puffy marshmallow.
Personally I wouldn't recommend it, if it's going to be your everyday winter jacket. Go for another CG.

Isn't MK made in Winnipeg? I remember readin that somewhere.
Thanks to IX2L for explainin Arc'teryx to me, I always wondered how they kept you warm if they were so thin lol.
Well I havn't decided yet, I actually emailed MK about their shedding issue and to see if they offered a Manufacturers Lifetime warrant, still waitin for a reply
If all else fails looks like maybe back to good ol' trusty CG.....(the search continues)_______________

moncler is like 1400 and its still not made in italy or a place known for its clothes. Last time i saw a jacket by moncler it was from Romania, Bulgaria and maybe China.
Some other jackets you could try are mackage but not sure if you will like their style. You can find them on stylexchange.Last edited by a bathing ape; Nov 16th, 2010 at 05:28 PM.

I just got an email from MK and they state " As for the fur, we choose to use the blue fox tail and because of it's coarse hairs, durability and general style. Unfortunately some of the furs are shedding more than we expected. We have changed fur suppliers and the new lots of fur we have are doing much better."
They do offer a lifetime warranty on their jackets and 2 years on the fur. I didn't see this on the website but that's not to bad of a policy_______________

I bought mine last year from Holt. Pretty warm in my opinion. Had no problem last winter only wearing a t shirt and the parka.
I also bought the ballistic bomber. Find it fit better than CG.

I just bought this parka from their online store just now, the guy who I was emailing my questions to, Will was real helpful and he gave me a coupon code to use, so can't go wrong there.
I'll give a review of it when I get it.

I ordered mine from industrieshop.com, got a coupon code for 20% off which came to about $600 total with tax and shipping. Don't think that deal is still on however. Just got in this afternoon, wore it around a bit, and I've gotta say it's a pretty damn sweet jacket.
I've only tried on CG in a store so I can't say for sure, but it seems comparable in terms of warmth. The fur on the MK is a lot bigger and thicker, and the whole thing's definitely more ostentatious. Personal choice I would say, for me I prefer the looks of the MK. Far less ubiquitous than CG, another plus I guess.
As for their manufacturing, they're made in Canada. Check the bottom right corner of their website. There's a little bit of shedding on mine so far, nothing serious though.
