Let me get a calculator, I guess the 7mm is 2mm special than the 9mm. ;-) Thinner, no difference for desktop, just in case you want to use it on a notebook or set-top that requires 7mm 2.5" drive.

I dont see why that 250 gig Samsung deal is bad, with Farcry 3 in it I think its a stellar deal. What am i missing?

Are there better deals on Samsung 840 (256GB)? That's exactly the drive I was looking for (this or Crucial). I'll grab the Sanyo rechargeables+charger too

For reference, the good old Crucial M4 128GB will be on sale at FS for $80. If you don't need 7mm or the game, that is another good business class SSD.

from what i understand the firmware issues with the 840 were right at release and quickly fixed. can't really go on data that hasn't been compiled yet it's a pretty new SSD. definitely not the disaster that Sandforce SSDs had.
