I don't believe they care about what other people think what a tablet is. The message clearly stated that they (Chapters) considered the tablet an eReader therefore they refused to sell it as a tablet. Yea, they could have reworded their prints to make things easier for themselves. Unfortunately they chose to display their I-do-it-the-way-I-am-pleased attitude and that's not good for their image.

[QUOTE]Hi everyone,
I'd like to clarify the legal language on behalf of Indigo. We classify all eReaders, Tablets and all electronics that we sell as "eReaders." All eReaders, tablets and electronics are excluded from our Friends and Family promotion.

Really "all electronics that we sell as "ereaders"" did they even read the description of the Nexus 7 from Goolge itself???

SUCCESS! I took the documentation to Chapters in Sunridge (Calgary) and naturally, it did not scan. I explained to the girl that my friend had to get a supervisor to authorise it and she called hers. She basically explained to me what RoseinIndigo stated but I pointed out that they advertise it as a TABLET and the word tablet was missing from the in-store disclaimer but was present in the on-line disclaimer. She kind of agreed but was still holding out until I showed her the scanned receipt. She then agreed to the discount but warned me that she will mark the receipt so that it cannot be used again as precedent. I wasn't about to object of course so they put it through. $202.49 plus $1.20 environmental fee plus GST. $213.87 Total. My receipt says "Final No Refund - No Copy of Receipt"
So, if anyone from Calgary is reading, don't bother with Sunridge, it's dead there.

I had success as well. People were very nice and after a few discussions, they honoured the discount. I am glad no one there considered the Nexus an ereader. I got two, at $202.49 ($234.71 each, taxes included). Now I will try to return the 16G I bought at bestbuy a few weeks ago which they PM'ed to google's $209. Any one knows what BB's policy is. Last I checked, everything bought since November can be returned by January, so I read at their site.

Is anyone able to pick up a Nexus 7 at Shopper's Drug Mart? It is 20X point event which means they will give you about $80 back. Went to couple stores, they were all sold out.

Sorry. I missed out the most important info. Montreal downtown Indigo. They did mention that it was an error and it would be fixed ASAP. So YMMV. They are aware of the issue. The discount had to be manually entered.Variability wrote: ↑Which store/location?

hey guys, just want you share my experience today. I went in with the discount coupon and a printout on their website itself that the N7 is a tablet. The manager read the information on the fine print and she did honour the 25% discount. Happy camper here the only downside is that the tax PST GST still a very good deal. Moral of the story it doesn't hurt to try

Thanks so much to ctwizzy! I managed to get 25% off with a little bit of convincing. An employee completely agreed with me and was jealous of the deal. He helped convince the manager who then okay'ed it. Super happy, love this thing already.

The paragraph with a single asterisk is for in-house 25% off. The two asterisk paragraph is for on-line 10% off.Mightymouse99 wrote: ↑Congrats on the people that were able to get the 25% off, but I was wondering am I seeing something different on the website then others are? Read carefully. ** is for 10% coupon.
Btw I got it! Went to Robson chapters and the manager was not stubborn when I stated the 10% states tablet and 25% does not hence there is a difference between a tablet and ereader. She did not even argue with me.
