i wouldn't trade a Yukon for Chilliwack + 100. but at 150, I think that's a fair price for bothachineseguy wrote: ↑I asked 100 and he said 'thats quite far', bleh my chilliwack is 10x better condition -_-. hes asking for 550 firm so im trying to sell my chilliwack for 450 and toss in 100.

Fur looks average at best. The jacket is very worn on out as you can tell by the inner tags. The shell doesn't look that great either. I wouldn't trade a chilli + 200 for it. And for 550 ROTFLOL's yukons are so much nicer. Idk if he still has it though.achineseguy wrote: ↑he sent his pictures, can i get some feedback on the quality (swapping my chilliwack + 200)

don't think it's worth it at all to trade a chilli + cash for the yukon. Just enjoy the chilli man.....you don't know how he really treated the jacket either.

Hi lovely Canadian folk! You seem to know your CG stuff, I was wondering what you thought of the legitimacy of this one on eBay UK?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Canada-Goose- ... 27cc849f39
I'm spending winter in Winnipeg because i'm a glutton for punishment and since we don't really have any stores in the UK that sell CG coats, I wouldn't know what the real thing feels like - so i'm basing it mostly on what i've read here, mostly about checking the quality of the fur, waterproofing qualities and lack of 'creasing'.
Thanks guys!!

Would you consider it overkill for one of Winnipeg's winters? It's great to get some feedback on the heft of this jacket, thanks!CanadaGooseForumAdmin wrote: ↑I had an old Snow Goose era Snow Mantra in size medium (bought cheaply at $200 for reselling purposes) and it was in a similar, nearly pristine condition. I am still angry at eBay bidders for settling for a final bid of slightly less than double my initial outlay of cash considering the old beat-up Snow Goose era Resolute I had for sale at the same time sold for more than double!
That one's just fine. Keep in mind that it's the company's warmest product and the only winter jacket filled with 675 fill power goose down and the jacket is hefty (my curtain rod slightly dipped in the middle when I hung it in my closet). Some of the lightweight products have this fill but all other winter jackets have the 625 fill power duck down. So it'd either be very good if you lived in a bitterly cold place or massively overkill if you lived in southern Canada.

I've never been to Winnipeg but I hear that it can get quite cold there. Manitoba belongs to the Prairie Provinces which are mostly landlocked and away from large temperature-regulating bodies of water to which much of the rest of the country is privy. I'd venture a guess that the authentic Snow Mantra you linked will do you well there. Good luck with the auction!

Thanks, I think I need more luck with the weather than the auction! Just out of curiosity - is there anything particular that stands out as making this a genuine Mantra or is it simply that you get so used to seeing them that you can spot a fake a mile off?CanadaGooseForumAdmin wrote: ↑I've never been to Winnipeg but I hear that it can get quite cold there. A little bit of both.
There are several identifiers common to many false jackets that immediately give them away as counterfeit versions which differ drastically or subtly (depending on how well they're replicated) from the genuine article. So someone who is experienced in seeing a fake ModelABC can identify a fake ModelXYZ even if he has never seen the latter before, based on common erroneous features. Vice-versa for authentic versions, which all have a certain level of quality stitching, the shapes and consistency of various symbols and design elements (such as the maple leaves and font sizes), coyote fur has a distinctive look to it that's hard to copy, etc.
Many new members here can often accurately distinguish real from fake, but they still ask just to be 100% sure and confirm their hunch was right. Once you see a few real ones and a few fake ones, it's very easy to pick up the skill.
Additionally, I've owned a Snow Mantra, but not one as young as the one pictured in that auction. Mine was quite a bit older, from the bygone days when Metro Sportswear Ltd. branded their apparel as "Snow Goose" or "Snow Goose of Canada" instead of the current "Canada Goose" brand name. Even then, the overall jacket is virtually unchanged, except for some minute details like how the labels and a few patches look.
Finally, fake Snow Mantras exist, but considering it's Canada Goose's flagship extreme parka, it doesn't seem to be replicated very often. I always expect to see more of them floating about on the web, but they don't seem to come up with the frequency of fake Chilliwack bombers and a few other designs.

Which era? The "missing hyphen" indicator was marginally stronger in identifying golden goose era patches (back when there was adequate contrast provided by white font on a black background) but is virtually irrelevant when it comes to the current Arctic Program era patches (now that it's red font on a black background which offers lousy visual contrast and sometimes the hyphen is missing entirely from AUTHENTIC jackets).

2010/2011, I've seen a few that just don't have the dash, but are all authentic. Kinda strange haha.
