"Retirement’s Harsh New Realities" - Gordon Pape
previously finished:
"The Hunger Games" trilogy
The first book is very similar to 'battle royale' (for manga fans). it's a dystopian future earth scenario where kids are thrown into a battle to the death as a means for the central government to maintain an iron grip on its citizens. it was alright but I don't quite get the super hype for it (there's a movie coming out much to the delight of hunger fans).
"Steve Jobs"
A fascinating biography that is well written. Love him or hate him, I think this is one interesting read.
edit: op let us know how those two books are. they seem interesting.

[Merged] Post the last book you read (or are currently reading)
Currently reading: Freakonomics

i like this book. it shows some odd numbers and correlations between things you wouldn't have originally though of. i don't think one can take too much away from this book apart from realizing that there exist odd relationships when it comes to causalities and correlations, and that things aren't very clear cut on the surface. good read anyways. i also follow their podcast and blog.
Next on list: Economics Explained

Was delivered yesterday, haven't started it yet, but it looks great from flipping through.

3 chapters in... can't put it down. It's similar but in a different style than Portia De Rossi's book.

Still a slow read. I put it aside for "Insatiable".Last edited by jacksorbetta; Jan 17th, 2012 at 05:38 PM.
