What I have isn't a dash cam but it's the Contour GPS. It serves many purposes, in car, in snow activities etc. It's also very good for night time videos. I did compare it to all the previous and current, GoPro, Contours and Drift competitors. Most importantly though the GPS locates you where you are in an actually intersection, your speed etc. So if anyone tries to screw with me I got solid evidence.
I should point out that I've seen a guy hide his phone when he was beside me when he saw the cam and me looking at him at a stop. So a nice side effect.
If you'd like a sample from my daily drives I'll post some.

Happened a couple of days ago. We have a red light creeper (the corolla in front) and a red light beater (oncoming lane).
I also made a boo-boo myself since I entered the intersection. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't it only one car allowed to enter the intersection, the second car (which is me in the video) should wait at the stop line?
I do see on occasion two cars in the left turn lane enter the intersection, sometimes even a third eventually completing the turn on red, which iirc, is wrong.Last edited by jaszy; Feb 17th, 2012 at 06:07 AM.

Holy crap, how did that corolla driver get a license???? Never seen so many fails at driving done in one minute. This guy sure keeps the corolla stereotype going strong.
1. Enters intersection on a red
2. Fails to keep left after completing the turn
3. Has right turn indicator on but doesn't pull into any entrance driveway, goes by two of them

Another Corolla making an unsafe lane change to the left lane. Big surprise.
Corollas sure are well represented here.

Qaz393,
As per the miata in the winter, i never had any issues, granted I never drove in deep deep snow. But the tail swings out pretty easily upon demand of the right foot, so it's all about control. I would think 95% of the toronto winter i had no issues driving her around town. If you drive it with care and caution, you'll be fine. Good winter tires is a must, obviously.
I had a honda prelude at the same time and i've always picked the miata to drive in the winter b/c how fun it is. Infact, the only time i got into any trouble would be in FWD cars.
