How am I blaming the victim?
I asked those original questions to see if there were signs that could have been spotted; that the driver was a nut job!

Because there are crazies out there!
If I'm approaching a vehicle that is driving slow, I will creep right to the center line and start planning my pass, but if the jerl up front becomes agitated and tries to block my view; I know right away to fall back and wait it out.

I've witness drivers purposely speeding up and slowing dow to block a pass and I'm not risking my life to save a few minutes.
This exactly, pretty much what I do. If it's someone very slow (usually an old person or a new driver) I pass by when it's safe. If someone is swerving around, hitting the brakes or speeding up and down - then I just fall back and wait. Just like you said, too risky and not worth it.

I've been driving for a very long time and could care less about having the "right of way"; if it means I can avoid a collision.
I don't care too much about the damages to the vehicle; but sure as hell care about injuries that may be a result!

Wow. What a mess all because of being distracted and late braking.

That other car went flying. Looks like they hit the gas instead of the brakes.

Even so, its called defensive driving. You may or may not have learned from driving school.
