Are you blind? The cop literally pulls the car over right after it makes the 'illegal' left turn. Obviously the cop didn't think it was safe for the car to make the left turn.Canadadesi wrote: ↑ Check your driver's ED course for left turn.
Most drivers do it every day. Did you miss 'when safe'? Unsafe driving and ticket able offense are 2 different situations.

Cool down bro. Please show me where I said he didn't get pulled over - unless you are equally blind. I suggested that the driver may have been pulled over for some other offense, not 'necessarily' for running a green light.fishscale4sale wrote: ↑ Are you blind? Both for you and the OP, just to clarify - I am only suggesting alternate scenarios - not disputing anything

Nah man, he was pulled over for making that left turn because it was unsafe. Green advanced filter was over but they turned left even though oncoming traffic was about to come forward.Canadadesi wrote: ↑ Cool down bro. Just because it happens every day, it doesn't mean it's legal or safe. Some cities (like GTA) have put in a momentary delay for opposing traffic to go from their RED to GREEN because of this, but again, doesn't make the left turn anymore right - it's wrong.
Similarly Toronto now has the pedestrian cross turn to WALK before vehicular traffic gets their green.

Yup. Send the pedestrians into the intersection first and hope, pray, etc that no cars go thru on the red signal.

Lol, ok. So you confirm that you think that was a safe maneuver since you are thinking “why would the cop give a ticket for this safe and legal move. The pullover must be for something else unrelated.” I hope you are just trolling at this point but will make one last comment on this.
Of course left turns on green is legal….when there is no traffic that will hit you when making the turn!
I know the word “safe” is open to interpretation but when you drive into the path of a another car that has the right of way and that car has to take steps to prevent a collision….that’s unsafe. Sure, the people that do this is thinking, “they were stopped at a light, so they can wait a few more seconds staring at a green light that changed and not able to go because my time is more important and I need to get to my destination faster than anyone else” and they think it’s safe, but it’s not.

You are creating a dangerous situation for the oncoming traffic that HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY. You force them to remained stopped when they have the right over you. Only reason it is safe is that they know idiots will keep jumping so they wait. I have to do it every day.
Please explain to me how is it "safe" when someone else has to yield their right of way to someone who DOESN'T have right of way to avoid an accident?
I don't actually expect you to understand this though.
What you are saying is the equivalent of me parking my car on train tracks while the barriers are coming down with a slow train and good visibility. The train will always be able to stop so by your definition it is "safe" all day long.

Before jumping to any conclusions know that the reply was to a specific question - bolded above. The original response already mentioned about safe practices while driving.canoek wrote: ↑ "Most drivers do it everyday" I didn't get the memo that that is how right/wrong is defined.

It is clear what is being discussed here, and as video too. You even said the cop probably pulled him for a different offence, so why are you trying to act all innocent now?Canadadesi wrote: ↑ Before jumping to any conclusions know that the reply was to a specific question - bolded above. Another “safe” driver making a left turn where they were not supposed to. I’m sure someone will make the argument that it was done under a green light and not a red .

wow, road rage cuz that left truck was going slow in the left hand lane hogging it! then proceeds to speed up once the rager speeds up and gets clipped! did the driver RIP from the crash?Marx0r wrote: ↑ Really? Otherwise, maybe try Twitter to air your radical frustrations.
This is what you are calling for, minus the death.
The amount of entitlement and aggression on our roads is next-level these days.

This happened this evening. Long story short: at the end of the video you will see it. Red Kia Rondo in right lane, mandatory right turn at the red light. Guy decides he continue straight forward. Light turns green, and we follow our lanes (road is covered by snow, we don't see the lines) and this guy hits my mirror. My mirror flips, I don't see if there is any damages like broken glass. What I want to do is pull over to see if there is any damages to both cars, and share drivers infos (if needed) but the other driver decides to accelerate and push me towards the median. Then he accelerate and finally escape from the scene. I am now nervous, and press all the buttons on my dashcam to keep this on file. Few block farther I come across the Rondo , he stops. We have a ''pep'' talk, and I have no damages except a scratch on the mirror. The car is very dirty due to the weather, I can't see if there is more damages.
Question: would you report that moron to the autorities? Does it worth anything? Since I first thought of a hit and run, but then later he stopped as I reached him and barely see damages on my car...
It starts aroud 35 secs.
EDIT #1: Fixed the video link that was set to private in my Youtube parameters
