Just got the email flyer and this stood out starting tomorrow (Dec 29)

I paid $50 for a 500GB for my wife last month for work and a Seagate.

2 year warranty, I think I might pick this up for my laptop since I only have 160GB hard drive.

Dont shoot the messenger if this isnt a hot deal, but price wise seems to be pretty good

I thought for a portable drive the make and size was pretty good for $70. PozzyD seems to take it upon himself to hate me this morning for some reason.

Bestbuy a similar one that includes a case for the same price. I'm not sure what the difference is. They are both WD and both USB 3.0

I second OP on this deal, this is a pretty hot price for a 2.5' USB 3.0 enable 1 TB portable drive.

I also saw it in my email and I for one will be jumping on it once it goes live.

Not having to use a power supply and having half the weight is valuable. If size and weight didn't matter, Ultrabooks and Macbook Airs would not exist, since specs (and weight) are typically higher on a traditional laptop.

Some people do travel you know. $70 is about the going rate for portable external drives of this size. I for one wouldn't ever consider getting a desktop drive for travel use.
