I have an external and it works well, but its 100% plugged into my PS3. To transfer files I just have a long usb extension (extension into an extension into an extension :-) to transfer files. I used to unplug the power and then move it all the time, but snaking the cable behind the tv stand etc got to be a pain. They do have their place (I have 2) but a portable one is just that, portable and has its own niche in the computer worldShakkan wrote: ↑Dec 28th, 2012 12:12 pmI felt like commenting on the*******Desktop external hard drives SUCK. Yes, having to bring a power supply along with the additional weight of the drive itself really defeats the purpose of a portable hard drive and is a deal breaker. Those external desktop drives are only good if they don't ever move. Nice deal OP. I took advantage of the NCIX promo myself a while back at 100$ - 20$ gift card + free 32GB usb 3.0 Corsair drive.
