I will stick with Teksavvy DSL for now too, but this is fantastic news and I could care less if the packages are not significantly better than Rogers, I refuse to support that scum-of-the-earth company.

There really isn't any benefit to getting Teksavvy's cable internet option, especially when you can get 30% off Rogers' standard rates with near-certainty with a one year contract.
And if you don't want to give Rogers your money? Guess what, they're getting it from Teksavvy anyways.

Primus will own all...
Primus has their own DSLAM's in Toronto and other parts of Canada which means they'll still be able to offer unliminted after UBB.
Teksavvy should have charged more for their unliminted service before and bulit their own network like Primus.
This cable reselling service is just too little too late t save them IMO._______________Get free TV (in HD too!), phone and cheap internet

I am planning to switch to Teksavvy anyways, is cable faster or DSL faster?
The pricing seems like DSL package they have is much better than cable.

There's only 'no benefit' if customer service is not important to you. I would rather have Teksavvy pay Rogers a wholesale rate on my behalf rather than me pay a much higher customer rate and the pain of dealing with Rogers directly *shudder*
Teksavvy has high customer loyalty owing to excellent customer service and pricing. UBB is a blow to their business (and I kindly invite the telco industry stooges on the CRTC board to eat ****) but it's not their death knell yet.
Cable is faster but with lower bandwidth caps and a bit higher price. Only heavy torrenters should care.

It really depends on you location in relation to a DSL CO.
A couple of years ago Teksavvy was kind enough run a test (FREE BTW - see previous comments about customer service - It makes a real diff when you're taking to Wendy in Chatham as opposed to 'Mike' in Bangalore) and my DSL speed would have been ~3 Mbps, which would have been less than my Cable Speed - so I held off.

Ok...I agree with what you're saying and perhaps I was a tad too harsh on TSI (I do like them btw hence why I promote them in my sig) but still the CRTC asshats have proven as long as you're connected to the major telco's in any way the commission will make you dance to the tune of the big boys. Bell or Rogers...it sadly doesn't matter in the long run.
TSI had price and unliminted bandwidth going for it...I still think they should have charged more and started to build their network.
IMO the core of what the CRTC has done here is to ensure a digital divide where those in densely city cores will have fast speeds and unliminted service, the burbs further away from the CO will have slower unliminted or capped fast speeds and those in more rural type areas on city fringes will just have Bell.
TSI - install your own hardware in dense areas like downtown TO where it's financially viable to become a real ISP and get out from under the heels of Bell/Rogers and their puppets at the CRTC!_______________Get free TV (in HD too!), phone and cheap internet

Well, Quebec is getting different speed and package.
Maybe they are selling off from Videotron as to Rogers in Ontario?
The 10/1 95 for $42.5 is very attractive, as it's about the same price i paid for my DSL+dry loop.
Quebec Teksavvy

yea.. the $50 overuse is a giant kick in the nuts. I would have accepted 25 but 50 is just too much.
It's still dollar for dollar better than the rogers plans tho. You'd save $10+ by switching from Rogers to Teksavvy. So in that respect, it's hot for existing Rogers customers.. but for adsl users.. damn this blows._______________
