Aside from the fact that I was on the waiting list for cable internet in Etobicoke and they never called or e-mailed me to tell about it, they've screwed me over 3 times now for my set up.
I called over two weeks ago to order the cable internet package and was told the date a technican would come was July 2nd. Got an e-mail a few days later saying it won't be until July 7th. Called them immediately and told them that day is implossible for me since I would be away. After begging a cousin to sit at my apartment that day and wait, I confirmed the date with TekSavvy.
My appointment time was between 5 and 8pm; my cousin sat there between 4 and 8:30 with nobody showing up and my cousin now angry I ruined their Saturday night. I called again, TekSavvy apologized and said they would put me in for Monday.
Woke up this morning with a phone call from the technician saying he was outside my building; which was fantastic considering I wasn't home. I asked why he didn't call and inform me last night that he was never coming; he said he called dispatch and told them to inform me he would be there first thing in morning. That would have been great if dispatch called to inform me.
Now, I just got an e-mail saying Monday can't happen; it has to be Wednesday. I called and said it was completely unacceptable and they need to compensate me somehow; I said waive my activation fee, they said all they can offer me is a week of free service. We'll see if they actually show up now.
Have you tried plugging in your cable modem? If you ever had Rogers before, all they need to do is activate the modem remotely (if the physical connectivity is already there).

All POIs have been upgraded, so the service should be as advertised.

My internet before this was also with TekSavvy, so don't think that would work.

noob question:
DO you need to subscribe to Roger's cable TV service before you can get Teksavvy's cable internet service?

Distributel. Avoid Acanac.

Probably the best cable package and probably lives really close to their main server OR that's just speedboost. Not sure.
It would probably be better to edit your post rather then making three In a row!

Another cable alternative is Start.ca
I have no problem with acanac ....they are hoping to launch IPTV soon...and will only be available to their own network (i.e. acanac and distributel)

I'm on the Cable Extreme package (28mbps/1mbps). The speed from speedtest.net is due to speedboost.
I download typically at 3.5 MB/s which equates to a solid 28mbps connection. I've been experiencing steady speeds even during peak hours - no complaints thus far!
