LOL... Just a newbie who wants to lower their rate while getting the same benefits. I have essentially the same EPP plan with added LD minutes, VM10 and daytime minutes. All taxes and charges in, $28.25. I don't use up my minutes, and have no landline. This baby does the trick for me, and I'm not on a contract so quite happy to stay that way.

Hello,
I was the first to post about this $10 plan which I got in December. I also got the $15 plan as well, then for both phones I simply added the data plans on it. I can't give my number to anyone in fear that someone will phuckit up for me. That's like the cops saying, you tell me where you got this cocaine, and we will let you go.
My best advise is to call after 8pm eastern time so you get transfered to the south american call centre. if the person talking to you has a spanish sounding accent you are IN!!!! You may even ask them from which call centre are they from, and if they are in BC, T DOT or Montreal then just say sorry and hang up. When you speak to the south american call centre, tell them within the past few weeks many of your friends have been offered the Super Talk 10 and Super talk 15 inlight of the new cell phone carrier introduced in Toronto. Feed them the bullsheet and one of them may bite!!!
Good luck !!!

I've been with Telus since the Clearnet days (11 years ago), and have been a loyal customer the entire time. This is the first time that I've been off-contract with them, but I did not renew immediately in the summer when my EPP contract expired. When I called to let them know that I was shopping around for a better plan and that I was not happy they forgot my 10 year anniversary with them, I managed to negotiate the add-ons which they have given me for 3 years. I also got 3 months of free service. There was no requirement to sign a contract. I'm a pretty happy camper

11 years for me as well. But why free for 3 years if you didn't have to sign a contract that seems odd to me?
I've ordered a new phone so I will see what happens when my contract expires. I'm tired of calling L&R. It will be nice to have a phone that works time to use all my extra minutes while I have them. I'm just happy I have unlimited incoming in my basic voice plan that saves me a tons of minutes._______________

Hi i'm new to the forums, my contract with telus was up so i've been trying to negotiate a better plan. I'm planning to get the Iphone, been with telus since 2003. I don't understand why telus refuses to give me some of the deals I'm seeing on this forum since i've signed TWO contracts with them already, and this will be my third contract. There are two lines in my account as well so if i do end up leaving they'll lose two contracts!
Anyway, this is the best they can offer me, definitely not good enough at all but I either lack good negotiation skills or i have bad history with them or something, i really don't know...
300 anytime minutes
Evenings/weekends 6pm
MyFave5 nationwide
CID
VM 3
Unlimited incoming/outgoing texts
500 mb data
All for $56.60 in total per month per phone (includes SAF + 911 + tax). Should i just take them up on the offer or push for more? Frankly i'm sick of dealing with them so i'd really rather not talk to them anymore

If you go month to month you have no contract and you can cancel whenever you want. You can change your plan anytime when your needs change. However some plans require a contract in order for you to change it to. For Example, Stuudent plan usually requires a 2 or 3 year contract.
_______________
My Plans
Line 1 Rogers - Iphone 4/350 Anytime minutes/Unlimited E&W after 6pm/Unlimited Incoming Calls/Unlimited Rogers to Rogers/CID/VM/2500 texts//100 Long Distance Minutes/6 GB data/WhoCalled/CallManager = $37.43 plus HST = $42.30
Line 2 Telus - Super Talk 10 - 250 Anytime minutes/CID/CW/Mini VM/Free Incoming Calls/Unlimited E&W after 6pm/250 texts = $17.70 + HST = $20

I think that the 3 year free period is how they need to code it in their system. I don't know that they could give you the add-ons for free indefinitely in their system. This way, after the period is over, their billing system would automatically start to charge you for those features, I guess. Whatever the reason, I'm happy to have the features for 3 years and not have to negotiate until the period (or my phone) expires.
I'm not sure how you have proceeded with your negotiations, but in essence, I think you need to be ready to walk away from Telus and tell them that. If you call them up saying that you want to renew your contract, but want a better deal, this is likely the best that you can get. If you call them up and tell them that you want to cancel, then you are in a stronger bargaining position, as far as I can tell. Good luck!_______________

There are countless methods of negotiating all over RFD so this may or may not work. I usually call in asking "I was thinking of canceling and was wondering what the cancellation policy was." I sort of act dumb when it comes to negotiating and act very surprised when they give me offers that I want. Then you can say, "well, there's this plan I saw from Wind/Bell, etc that had this and that feature."
I've gotten really good at negotiating plans over the last couple years that it's turned into a little side business lol, but it does take practice to get things right. Best advice is if you don't get what you want then tell them you'll think about it and call back in a couple days.

Been with telus for about 4.5 years now. I've had the Supertalk 15 since the start. This is what we negotiated for a CDMA phone. They said they can't throw in any LD minutes, or email as those are subscriptions? I think they're lying. I don't really need LD but it'd be nice to have. I told them I'm only willing to sign a 2-year contract. I don't want a 3-year.
Supertalk 15 (250 day, 6pm e/w, CID, VM3, CW, 10 cent/min Canada LD)
Unlimited texting for duration of contract
Waived $25 switch fee
Total is ~$25/month after SAF/taxes
thoughts?
I've noticed that if ppl are off contract for a couple months, they are able to get on the Supertalk 10 with unlimited texting and unlimited browsing/email for $19 after taxes and SAF. Do you guys know how long the negotiated offers are valid before they expire? I'm thinking of going off contract for a few months and then renegotiating.

are they giving you a nice discount on the phone then? Because really, all they are adding is unlimited txt for the duration of the 2yr contract. Everything else is part of the SuperTalk 15 no?
I also have unlimited txting for the duration of the contract on my SuperTalk 15. But maybe they are giving a phone for a good price?

Nope.. phone would cost $179 on a 2-year. Yeah, it's just unlimited texting they're giving me. It's better than what the offered the first time i called. They said they would give me 250 free texts for 1 year...

Should I say that I'll only renew if they give me the phone for free or for $50 or whatever?
