On a side note, I believe starting in Nov 2007, Rogers will start charging you if you go over your download limit. For example, if your limit is $100GB/month, for every 1GB over the limit, Rogers will charge $1.50 + tax.

This essentially means that you will not be booted by Rogers if you go over your limit since they'll just charge you for it.

That's home use cable internet. This thread's about wireless internet, and yes Rogers is much more expensive for that also, as we all know.

Does this work in the US? I travel there a lot, so would it work in both countries, or is it limited to Canada?

Does this plan apply to subsidiary companies of Bell Canada? I'm limited to using the Sasktell CDMA network, which is essentially Bell mobility (hell, my treo even picks up the network ID as bell).$75 for 5gb of data is a hell of a deal, but do I get charged for roaming if i use this in Sask? right now i use BT DUN on my treo to get mobile internet on my tablet, but I'd much rather pickup an EVDO expresscard and go at 'er, or even make a stompbox!

This plan is now listed on Bell's site:
    http://www.businessonthego1.com/engl...cing_cards.asp
"Subject to acceptable use restrictions in Terms of Service, including but not limited to consuming excessive network capacity or causing our network to be adversely affected. See www.bell.ca/acceptableuse for details."

There's also a 1024 MB plan for $60/month, as mentioned by the OP.

Finally the data rates are starting to lower... Hopefully there's a competition out there!

Of course, once you tack on the SAF, e911 (911 on data card - LOL), activation and taxes you're looking at:
    $82 for 1GB
    $100 for unlimited...

That's still 50% too expensive IMHO but it's less expensive than the competition and the competition does not offer the unlimited options.

    Telus: $122 - 1GB/month http://www.telusmobility.com/on/busi...ate_plan.shtml
    Rogers: $240 - 500MB/month http://www.shoprogers.com/business/w...ce&cat=2&typ=2

To note, these are the general public/companies - Large companies typically have better deals but ratio should follow suit.

Guys, don't get fooled by Bell's tactics. I was offered this plan awhile ago. There 'unlimited' 'ultimate' PC card data plan has an acceptable usage clause of 250MB. It won't say this until you read the full details when you order.

So what you're saying is that they have a $75 plan for only 250 MB alongside the $60 plan for 1 GB shown on their site? It seems rather unlikely from those numbers that it's limited to 250 MB...

Default What's the best phone to use as a modem?

Instead of purchasing a dedicated PC card for data transfer, Bell lists off a number of phones that can be used a modem tethered back to a PC. The list can be found at http://www.businessonthego1.com/engl...Devices_EN.pdf

Anyone know which phone is best to use for high speed data over Bell's cellular network?

Where there's a digital signal.. And assuming the digital signal is from Bell or one of its Roaming Partners.
