my bad - I was just there a few weeks ago (I was in a regular deluxe room and my friend who is a "diamond tier rewards member" I assumed he had a "Go Room" - he must have had an even higher class room (it did look like a "Go Room").

(both of us had our rooms that were comped).

Go Rooms have a weird pink glow. Getting comped a room, esp a suite is a nice. My bro gets comp'ed regular rooms at Flamingo and he gambles much less than me :(

do you have any more info about the express bus? company name?

how do you know whether the bus is a regular bus or an express bus?

We like the north (outdoor) outlets better, but we are planning to stop at the south ones tomorrow on the way to the airport. There are some different stores at each outlet so you might want to google for a store directory.

The buses are very different looking and it's explained at each bus stop. The express bus is longer and looks kinda like a train (to me anyways), it's called the ACE Gold line. The gold line doesn't stop at every bus stop like the Deuce does so read the signs at the bus stop. We boarded the express at the Paris, but if you were at the stop next door in front of Planet Hollywood only the Deuce stops there, not the gold line express.

You can also ask the front desk staff at your hotel, they can tell you this and probably give you a handout.

I mentioned earlier in this thread that it must have been random because I barely had *any points* on my slot card - yet got comp'ed rooms!

My friend is the "high roller" - one other benefit of the "diamond tier total rewards level" is that he (and a friend - lucky me) gets access to the "diamond lounge" (free food [not a buffet obviously]/booze/internet).

Highlights

* Sneak away on a $169 (US$179) two-night getaway to the 4-star Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas -- valued at $404 (US$428)
* Stay just minutes from The Strip Sundays-Thursdays through Dec. 30
* Take in the rock 'n' roll vibe from an upgraded room with views of the pool
* Sit down to a gourmet meal or quick bite with a $47 (US$50) dining credit
* Use this deal on a Sunday to get in on the day-long pool party at Rehab then spend Monday recovering from the fun

It's not bad. It's not awesome but imho it's ok and I'm a pretty dedicated Vegas deal hound. The dining credit is what makes it worth while. The upgrade is worthless because I've been upgraded there before for nothing. Some Sundays to Thursdays during that period are cheap but others not so much.

And Rehab, if it is rocking, is an unbelievable party.

1. can you list your favourite buffets? list like your top 5
I consider price and quality to be equally important. My faves in no particular order are PH, Paris, MB (especially breakfast), Wynn and LV Hilton (dinner includes unlimited beer).
2. can you list your favourite a la carte restaurants? like your top 5
Casa Di Amore, Envy, Fatburger, Hash House a Go Go, Cafe Heidelberg (definitely not for everyone but imho it's good no frills German food).
3. your top 5 shows?
Mac King, Jersey Boys, Shades of Sinatra, Human Nature, Fat Elvis.
4. don't want to rent a car...which is the best method of transportation to the premium outlet? for 2 ppl...
Still a rental car but barring that a taxi. Buses in Vegas are hit and miss. If it's not too busy they can be fine. If it's busy the bus can take forever.

Caesars likes to give out comped rooms to lower rollers. Me and my gf only play poker, 2-4 limit, just getting trashed and losing pocket Aces and we always get comped rooms at either Flamingo, Rio, Harrahs, or IP. Occasionally PH and Paris too. However, I do need to combine our rewards cards together to get anything.

I'd like your opinions on the following prices, they are for Nov 18th to the 23rd, so 5 nights, including a friday and saturday night. Flights are direct Montreal-Las Vegas flights with no layovers, and all of these packages have the exact same flight, prices include taxes.

Flamingo: 651$ per person
Tropicana: 683$ per person
Harrah's: 688$ per person
Treasure Island: 698$ per person
Mirage: 729$ per person

The others are at least 100$ more than that. Which would you pick, the Mirage looks like a good value and location, but I've never been to Vegas so would love to hear your thoughts. Would have loved to try the Planet Hollywood towers or the Cosmopolitan but they are seeming way too expensive.

If it were me, I'd probably go TI out of that list. Mirage, TI, Harrahs, and the Flamingo are basically all in the same spot, so location isn't a big deal. It's a bit of a tossup between Mirage and TI, and $30 isn't a lot of money so you can't go wrong with either one. The Trop is nicer than it's reputation, but too far down the strip. Harrah's is pretty old, and the Flamingo is even worse.

Bolded hotels have an extra tax - "resort fees" that you *might* be charged upon arrival (will be between ten to twenty bucks extra tax per night).

(last time I did a 'package plan' to Vegas - there were no "resort fees" so I am not sure how they are handled today - I have been booking flight & hotel myself separately).

I would do flights and hotel separately, but I'm not sure that would help much... the cheapest flight I could find was 519$ with taxes, so to come out ahead the hotel would need to come in at between 130-200$ total for 5 nights, is that doable? I've seen rates at about 60-70$ at the cheaper hotels (Excalibur, that Circus one or the Stratosphere), but I don't want to stay at those... but the rate would need to be more like 25$ a night to approach the lower end of my flight/hotel deal, and 40$ a night for the Mirage. The resort fees are OK since I would pay for the wi-fi anyways if it wasn't included. I have some leeway, I just don't want to overspend! The more money I save on the flight/hotel, the more I can afford to splurge on shows and food and gambling losses.

Okay the Mirage is by far the nicest hotel there. I'd either go with Flamingo, or the Mirage. The Flamingo because it's just a good, decent hotel at a good price, no resort fees, the Mirage, because it's the best of the bunch there. Don't stay at TI, it's been going downhill for a while. Atmosphere isn't the same anymore.

Another option that you might want to think about is the Monte Carlo. The rooms are clean, the pool is nice, next to Citycenter, and location isn't bad at all.

And if you're planning on watching shows, Monte Carlo Winter Show Ticket Offer

Maybe book 2 nights on expedia(you can do that on expedia just book 2 nights hotel on 5 night trip), and then 3 nights here or 3 nights at mirage and save some money on shows. Depending on what show you choose, you can save a lot of money.

Viva ELVIS at Aria
Ka at MGM Grand
Disney's THE LION KING at Mandalay Bay
Zumanity at New York-New York
Terry Fator at The Mirage
Jabbawockeez at Monte Carlo
Tournament of Kings at Excalibur

There's the list.

I think those prices direct from Montreal is your best bet. Pricing separately comes out much higher. Mirage would be my choice, but $23/night in resort fee is tough to swallow. We loved staying at Trop, but for your first time you want mid-strip. Flamingo/Harrahs are older hotels but good location. That time of year the pools is not really a selling factor so if the resort fee is ok, do Mirage.

I was told the Monte Carlo was an older crowd, we're in our mid 30s... I don't really mind either way if it's a decent hotel, just something I wondered if it was true. I am planning on seeing Ka so that's a great deal. The other option I had was to book my father's timeshare, it's on Koval Lane behind the Harrahs, it doesn't seem TOO far but that would be 260$ for a week for transfer fees, I think the hotel deals still come out ahead vs the condo... the kitchen could potentially save some money but I know myself and I know I won't want to cook or do groceries on vacation :P

There's nothing wrong with the Monte Carlo crowd. If you don't like it, head to MGM or Cosmo. And if you're heading to Ka, it's close to MGM and the ticket deal should save you $125 even with the $55/special they have. And I find myself only using the fridge for leftovers when I have a kitchen lol. Maybe the microwave to heat something up. Again, this all depends on your budget, and depends how cheap you want to be =).

I was in the casino at Monte Carlo last week and while it was pretty dead compared to the others we had been in that night (bellagio, MGM, ceasars) the people we saw were definitely not all older. People we saw were a mix of ages.

If I remember righ it even has a food court area with 24 hour subway and a mc Donalds. There were even some 21 yr old girls there buying fries.

Not sure what the place is like during the day but it's in a good location and other hotels are nearby.

There's some contact information for you. Hope that helps.

We ended up making bottle service reservations for Tao.

Thanks!
