Wow, i didn't realize how much they've increased these in the last year or two. I hope Harrah's properties doesn't go and add parking charges. If anything, off-strip resorts like SouthPoint and V (can't remember a new boutique resort near the choclate factor) are a good ones.

Stay off the strip, use the resort fee equivalent and rent a car.
Have been doing this the last 2 visits and so much more convenient with own car!

In case you are not aware, MGM has started to charge for parking.

Why not just stay at Casino Royale if you want no resort fees? No parking, no car, cheap hotel, etc.

That's exactly when I'm going, either 3 nights and 4 days or 4 nights / 5 days, trying to find the best deal on either the flamingo or planet hollywood.

Kayceern wrote: Any good shows for September? We've seen at least 3 cirques (don't care to see any more), Le Reve, Absinthe, and comedy shows. Celine won't be there so we're looking into perhaps Mariah and/or Britney... Any recommendations? Is Showstoppers any good?
Only show I saw when I went to Vegas the first time was the Chris Angel show... it was alright but he talks like such a tool... I guess that's the stage thing. Britney is on my list for next time mainly because a LOT of people I know that have seen it said it was one hell of a show. I guess the ads all over the place down there saying it is the #1 show is true, so screw it if it's entertaining I'll see it. I probably will see 1-2 of the Cirque shows as well. Other than that it will be a LOT of blackjack and alcohol again ;)

Not a bad idea. Their hotel is a Best Western and it's actually pretty nice. And of course it is an awesome location.

Mariah Carey is coming to Vegas in late August. The first few weeks are mostly sold out and it's expected she'll be a big draw. I guess Britney will be more for the younger late 20s, early 30s crowd while Mariah is late 30s to early 40s?

I'm just going off of what I've read and what shows are good. All I know is that Chris Angel talks and acts like a tool on the stage so I wouldn't bother seeing that again, so that said I would like to see KA since I hear that's pretty good as well.

Is anyone from RFD here going anywhere from Oct 23-Oct 27? If you are and play blackjack lets do an RFD meet of some sort and try and win some $$$

I will likely be staying at either planet hollywood or the flamingo this time around (stayed at flamingo the first time I went and had a good stay... resort fees are BS though...

When is the best time to book? I am checking daily on travelocity for myself and 2 others for October 23-27 at the flamingo and it keeps going from $580-$640. It's constantly changing which I'm finding wierd so is there a trick to when you should book to get the best deal? Kind of surprising because last July when I went with 1 other person it was $550 all in

The best time to book is when you see the lowest price, in this case $580 and when you are comfortable with the price.

Also, my sense is that prices fluctuate according to available flights and changes in flight pricing. Don't just look at the price. Check what is being offered for flights. You will find variance there as well. Someone might prefer paying $600 vs. $580, for example, if it's a direct flight with better times.

I see, I've also heard sometimes it's cheaper to book the flight and hotel separately but when I've checked this option out it's usually substantially more money, any thoughts on that?

Lots of cheap tickets available....two free tickets if you sign up for the las vegas advisor coupon book ($5 box office fee)
I went to this show last year. It was a lot of fun and definitely worth the price.

You can find very good deals in July-August. It's cos that's the hottest in Vegas. Prices pick up again as it gets cooler. Is that with air?

I doubt it, not with Travelocity or Expedia. You will get quoted the cheapest and they have an array of airlines to provide the best price plus there is a built-in savings when you book the flight and hotel as a package.

I'll be booking tomorrow, should be around $700 all in (plus that stupid resort fee) at the flamingo by myself for 4 nights 5 days, once that is done then I'll be getting at least one show ticket off ticketmaster and the rest of the trip I'll just do whatever

If you're by yourself, best to get it from tix4tonight. But up to you.
