This plan only makes sense when you either have ur own phone or get it for really cheap. WINDTab is a bad offering IMO. You buy an expensive phone like SGS3 for $449 with $25 plan and are "soft-locked" in for 3 years! 10% of each monthly bill ($25 in this case), which comes to $2.5 will go toward $200 Balance ($649 - $449) - which is $90 for 3 years. If I decide to break-away before 3 years, you pay full $649 for phone, if you break away after 3 years, you would have paid $449 + $90 = $539. Not worth it! And truly this is not less than a 3 year contract - where is the freedom? Where is the Wind? lol

Hope I did not confuse anyone, I basically started typing as I was thinking! Someone with more understanding please correct me. I need to get away from Mobi as I live on their coverage area edge and keep loosing signal.
If you leave after the 3 year point...all you would have paid is $449 for the phone. the 10% of your $25 monthly plan ($2.50) goes towards paying off your tab..it's not something you actually pay out of pocket.

Makes sense to me. IF you get a discount on your phone, WIND will keep wiping the balance off by 10% of your monthly spending. Should it take longer than 3 years, they pay it off completely for you. IF you leave before the 3 years, you pay whatever is left on your tab.

buluan, if you really want to take advantage of this plan (keep in mind, you'll lose whatever promo credits you are entitled to under the old plan), I suggest you post to facebook/twitter. YOu're within the 14 days, someone should definitely be able to change that up for you without too much of a problem.

Thanks for clarifying! So $649 - $449 = $200 in my Tab? So $449 + whatever balance on my tab is what I pay if I leave early - So this kinda motivates you to stay with Wind for the full 3 year period! Get it.

Too bad the phone price sucks, after deducting $200, the price is still more than what I can get from some where else

You do realize you guys dont need to sign up for tab. There is value in being contract free.

Damn it. I signed up for the wish 40 with the $150 few days ago thinking that this plan will never come back. Now if I switch to this plan I have to fork out another $25 switch fee..ahhh.

Should I cancel my mobi $22.50 plan for this? I had that one for a month but was unable to use it cause my nexus just shipped lol, but they told me they will refund me the months I don't use it. Does wind have a sim card fee or something?

Won't work with Wind.

Sign up with Koodo to get the S2X and cancel it immediately. The net price for the phone comes upto ~$175. There's a huge thread on the S2x. I did the exact same thing :)
Or, Sign up with Virgin to get the Samsung Galaxy W and cancel it immediately. The net price for the phone comes to ~50. There's also a thread on that phone.
Both of these phones will work with Wind/Mobi once unlocked. There are more options but those are the two off the top of my head.

$25 sim card fee for wind, but when i signed up they had a promo saying i'd get a $25 credit back in my account after a month to offset the sim card cost. I'm not sure if Wind is still doing that. Can anyone confirm?

I'm on the Wind40 plan right now? You guys know if I can switch to this? And if so, is there a penalty for switching?
