Hi:

I don't have time to look through the entire thread to see if my situation has been addressed .. sorry! If anyone can answer this, I appreciate it. Here goes - on a basic phone plan from koodo - want to stay on this simple phone minutes only plan, tab is $15 and the phone broke. Can I buy this phone to use on my current plan? Is there a way to get it on to the current plan?

Thanks!

your tab is $15 or $150?
lol, that was my first q as well
either way, you can buy whatever phone you like mr pennysaver to use on your existing plan (any phone by the big 3 and subsidiaries so long as its unlocked is a good start)

So what is the best place to get an unlock code for this phone?

Also, does this phone work on Telus as well without unlocking?
I'll say ebay but you can also try mobileexpresscanada
you'd still need to unlock it for use with telus (unless of course you get lucky enuff and get an unlocked one, extreme ymmv)

Eh, correction

Any KOODO phone will work on TELUS, and vice versa. (ie. the Koodo S2X phone will take Telus SIM and just work)

Is the cheapest way to unlock this phone to purchase a code from mobilexpress? Or can this phone be rooted and then unlocked for free somehow? (Total android noob here)

What? have you forgotten about the Walmart Supercenter at Dufferin Mall?
Dufferin is a very modern definition of "downtown Toronto". ;)

How are you guys seeing your bills? I'm still getting "Please try again a few days after your bill cycle ends. If you are a new Koodo Mobile client, your e-bill will be available once you receive your first invoice in the mail." It was supposed to be cancelled as of the 16th (Friday) and it does say my Tab is 0.

Thanks!

You can't get $300 because it's selling for $200 (net of GC) new everywhere. Doesn't mean it's a $200, means it's a bargain (IMHO).

Try Chrome.

This has been said again n again... This version of Galaxy S2, that is T989D, cannot be unlocked by rooting. Mobileexpress is not the 'cheapest' but the most 'convenient' way to unlock. Cheapest is thru ebay, but you'll have to connect your phone to PC/Laptop (i think only Windows based) and let seller access it remotely. Still, some people have mentioned it didn't work for them and they had to get refund & also that this method might need downgrading to any Gingerbread version to work.
Choice is yours..

I agree, though Gerrard Square to Union Station is 5.8km, Dufferin Mall to Union Station is 5.7km. Driving distances.

Really though, "downtown" would be if they took over The Bay on Yonge (the old Simpsons at Queen, not the new The Bay at Bloor :) ). Or Sears.
