Hi guys, I just got my Playbook from WM. I was able to connect to my wifi fine, but I'm doing the update now and it's going very slow. I also keep getting this error:

Unable to connect to the network.
Please check your settings.

And then resumes the download for another minute or so before I see the error message again.

Anything I'm doing wrong?

Am I the only one not trying to cancel my order from ca.shopblackberry.com ? :(

All you nervous ninnies need to take it easy. All this fear over duties or RIM tacking on extra $100, and then flooding their call center is pathetic. There is no need to cancel, and remove yourself from a potentially great deal. I still think 2/$300 will happen. The amount lost is a drop in the bucket for them.

If you can turn the Wifi on and off the PlayBook do that, if not, reboot your router or gateway.

Thanks for the suggestions - tried both, still getting the same error every 30s-1min while doing the initial update. > :(

I would definitely try another WiFi source. Do you have another location near by that is not a public hotspot to try?
This was the case for one of my Co-Workers. Their home WiFi settings were a bit off. They brought it to work and it installed. I went over and did a router reset and set the DMZ from the Gateway to the router. All is working now. We even did a security wipe of the PlayBook to test it as it does the initial setup again.

Have any of you had any issues with the power button being flush? I'm planning to return my 32GB tomorrow just because of this reason. I had a 16GB 2 months ago that I returned, but it had a higher power button that was easier to use.

I'm definitely not cancelling the 3 I ordered from shopBB. 1 for me, and 2 for friends. I have a good feeling it will go through! I'm just going to sit back and relax and see what happens. In the meantime, this thread has been highly entertaining! :D
