I don't get RFD sometimes. You get ppl trolling HD DVD vs Blu-ray 24/7, 360 vs PS3 24/7, personal attacks, complete thread derailment and hijacking, talk about fraudulent activities such as returning items you purchased at one store to another store, swapping old items with new and refunding, ripping off coupons from boxes in Walmart, and in this case - price matching a deal for new games at stores when it doesn't apply to new games - yet any mention about hoarding gets deleted even if it's civil.

Any prior threads relating to hoarding when the issue inevitably arises do not get censored the hell out of, yet this is the case here. What makes this thread so special as to qualify for such unique treatment? Not only is there no consistency here, but in terms of priorities if censoring is required, based on all the the other inappropriate things discussed in threads here on RFD, talk of hoarding should be pretty damn low.

Drove to futureshop after work @ 6pm, went to futureshop (forgot which location), talked to another store manager, 1st he said no and look at the flyer and receipts. Couple mins later, he said just pick 2 ONLY. I picked Starwar unleashed and Resistance2. Now things are going well, right? I go to another futureshop and try PM and bring the futureshop Hwy 7 n Warden, store manager awares this deal and say no. After 15 mins of debating, he said I will give you 1/2 price of the 59.99 game. I even told him this is for my kid for x'mas present.

sorry to say, but i'm not sure how saying ^that will make a diff. in their decision of whether or not to allow the PM...

Then with this momentum, I bring it to Bestbuy, which is a no no no and no. They said they confirm with Zeller's headoffice this is for selected games only, I told them look at my receipt. They don't give a dam about it, then I went home.

if they've already confirmed w/ Zellers that deal is only for select games, it automatically invalidates the PM!
continuing the debate only wastes both your time and theirs...

These 2 days I was hunting these deals in all areas. Believe me, is not easy to PM since I am not a white guy. Most likely they won't give a **** if you don't even have your parents around. Then I got home and check this thread again, ppl has success with STAPLES. But I have no time on Friday.

About returning the Lego Indy, you won't get any credit for it 1. Because it's a bundle with the 360 and 2. It doesn't have a barcode, so they can't scan it in to return.

yep, if it's bundled, the game should have the "NFR" stamp on the cover art...

Not being interested in the bundled games it would have been great if they had barcodes, and if they did, even better if they allowed the price of the games to count toward the cost of the system.
There are two additional games included - outside the box. I'll talk to sales rep about it.

Haha, funny image that! 12-year-old kid (apparently black, for whatever difference he thinks it makes) shows up asking for games for "his kid"! I know they claim to be especially virile, but that's really pushing it!

Anyone know what the price of the ones that were supposed to be 2 for $30 ("reg $59.99" are now? Next flyer is AGAIN "2 for $30", ad looks similar without the "59.99". It will be the same old one sthat have been on through 4 weeks of "sales" already.

i am still in shock that centerpoint started to do this because when i went on the sunday, they wouldnt give me any.. only really ended up missing a game or two that i wanted.. oh well..

and to the person that said its not easy to get a PM because ur not white.... arent we a little racist?

is there some statistic that shows that white ppl get PM's more often then non white people?

even if russell peters made that into a joke it wouldnt even be funny

How is that racist at all? It's the simple truth that people treat you differently based on the colour of your skin, whether that racism manifests itself explicitly or implicitly. While I'm sure there are no statistics related to pricematching, you can find hoards of studies that can show you the advantages of being white and the disadvantages of being a visible minority i.e. how white interviewers treat ethnic job applicants, please try to be a little more sensitive. lol, actually, that one episode of south park where Stan's dad has to guess the letter to fill in N_GGER (clue: people who annoy you) is also a really good demonstration of this point.

I agree. Even in Brampton where i tried to get this deal at a local Zellers, being brown, I argued with a white manager. That if other Zellers are honoring it why dont you. She threatens me saying that if I don't leave the store she will call security on me to remove me from the store. Now if I was white, I doubt she would of said something like that. It is a fact. There is hidden discrimination everywhere. If you think racism doesn't exist you are living in Utopia, was it necessary of her to call security on me for trying to get a pricematch? No, I don't think so! Went to staples, and was denied again by another white man. Tried a different staples, where the employee and manager were brown, I walked out with two games for myself and my friend who was there with me also got two games.

if your Zellers has a dump bin of games (or on the shelves) marked w/ $20 tags, there's a good chance the CSRs will just reference you to those
