1% bonus (up to $750) when you transfer TFSA or RRSP to Meridian (ON)

Deal Link:
Expiry:
March 1, 2019
Retailer:
Meridian
Meridian is offering up to $750 when you transfer at least $10K to them for TFSA or RRSP. Expires March 1st.

They also have great 18-month (3.25%), 3 year (3.45%) and 5 year (3.75%) GIC rates, when you combine them with the 1% bonus it becomes really tempting for those looking for guaranteed returns. And an offer for 3.25% for TFSA savings for 4 months.

Good deal. I went to see them today, they were very accommodating and also personally sent me a follow-up e-mail regarding my plans with them.

In contrast, I had to tell TD offered me a line of credit but couldn't tell me the rate. LOL. They said I had to accept in order to see the rate, and if I didn't follow through with accepting they would revoke the offer. So I told them meh I was considering Merdian because they were being bizarre and were just assuming I'd stay a customer. So after I left the bank manager called me. But only after bascially threatening to leave.

Big contrast in customer experience, big difference in investment offerings/savings, and good rates. Hmmmmm.

No penalty to withdraw $ from TFSA savings account, you just need to make sure that when the TFSA GIC matures the $ goes to your TFSA savings account. And, of course, you'll need to wait until Jan 1st of the following year before you can put it back into another TFSA.

It basically means you have to visit a Meridian branch to open a registered account with them.

The customer service that called me stated that they would pay that amount the first month, but no time limit stated. Will verify once I am in branch.

My wife loves me more😂, my car goes faster😎, my house becomes bigger😐, My boss gives me a raise😁.

Fact check, none of the above is valid.

How would you initiate a TFSA transfer? On your banks side or Merodian's side?
