Messed up xp background display.. please help. It looks ugly
I’m not sure if its just me… but for some reason, my windows xp background looks as if it is on 16bit colour rather then 32bit. In internet explorer, you can see certain rectangular spots in some areas with colours that do not match that well. I tried to configure my display settings but its always the same. I have a Compaq 2405 notebook with ATI Xpress 200m. It’s one of the notebooks featuring the high definition screen.. The colours look as if they do not blend together..

Have you tried a different background/wallpaper?

check your temps, it could be heat damage - even though xpress200 chips are passively cooled, it shouldn't run hot enough that it requires active cooling. if not the temps then try updating drivers. Else it might be the panel.

I think it's the notebook panel. I have the V2310ca and it has the same problem.
The odd thing is my friends V2305ca doesn't have this problem. I'm using the latest drivers from hp, I can't figure it out.
