Messenger bag Recommendations .....

About to kick start my career in a few weeks ....

Looking for something sporty and stylish. But its gotta be somewhat semi-professional, so no Puma logos or any thing silly.

I've check the el cheapo places at the mall, but never found anything I liked.

Any specific recommendations, or stores I should check for?

Thanks

I like the designs of Jack Spade and Crumpler bags. Got a Crumpler messenger bag from bestbuy. It was ~$70 after tax. Great bag and very durable. Here's a link to the one I bought. I got the one for 15" laptops but they had a one for 17" laptops if you need something bigger. Jack Spade is more pricey @ $125~. Heard they sell them at Holts. Not too sure though.

Have you looked at Mexx? Their messenger bags designs are pretty good..... from past experience though, their quality isn't that great.

+1 on Jack Spade. Depending on the size you get, they're usually ~$200

On the MEC site the pic of this bag looks more like a backpack...but it is mainly a courrier bag.

Black, very smart and very versatile. It has a laptop sleeve and can be converted to a backpack with hidden straps. It can be used as a day pack with the interior clothes pocket and it expands too. I use it for work and love it. Plenty of pockets for various items. It's also very well made.

bought the same one.. great bag overall, the quality is great, sturdy materials, and sports a huge pad for your shoulder (I found it very much more comfortable to use than other cheapo/free bags I got over the years). my only gripe is that the velcro ripping noise drives my classmates insane, but it does help the bag keep its thin shape when stuffed full :)

crumplers come in many diff styles too, if you check out their website :) (for more styles/colors than your typical BB/FS carries them for :D )

+1 for jack spade. It looks nice and it's thin. It has lotsa pockets to put stuff in. Only gripe is the velcro... wish they would have used something else but I guess they used velcro due to it's versatility.

Thanks guys.

I might check out the Jack Spades. Pretty pricy though. ~$150 for all the online places I checked. Anyone know where I can find them in the GTA?

The people who are saying that the Crumpler bags are semi-professional looking need to have their eyes checked. They might be well constructed, comfortable, etc., but unless you're either a student or work at a hippie company, those bags are not corporate career bags and do not belong anywhere at work.

OP, you should check out eBags.com. They do ship to Canada. There might be something in your price range there.

My personal favorites are the ones from Kenneth Cole.

Thanks for the link.

I agree, don't think the Crumpler bag will work for me.
