price of pop has gone up.... usually these sales are $2.99 at all major supermarkets... not just metro. I think the inflation is kicking in...... I would be wrong if i see those $2.99 again (24can for $5.99 usually).

The regular prices may have gone up, but the sales price of coke / pepsi hasn't changed in 20 years or more. 24 cases of coke used to go on sales in the mid 90s for $5 and you can still get 2x12 cases for $5 on sale occasionally now.

I think Pharma Plus/Rexall or Shoppers Drug Mart had the 6x710ml for $1.99 but I haven't seen those prices for at least two months now.

I got the 6x710mL cases on sale from Walmart a few weeks ago for $2. SDM sometimes have them for $1.99 for their weekend deals but it seems to be a rarity to come by as I've noticed that they jacked it up to $5.50 for 2 cases for the weekend sales.

$2.50 is my cut-off and that's only if I'm desperate...anything beyond that is not worth it.

Food basics and No Frills normally have 18 for 3.97 when on sale

3.33/12 =27.7 cents a can

3.97/18 = 22 cents a can

I disagree. IMO, it's hot because Metro normally has products in stock when they put them on sale, while the shelves empty quickly at Food Basics. I rarely go to Food Basics to buy something that appears in their flyer because I get burned by empty shelves at least half of the time.
