The guy is dumb... for risking his life when he could have just tried his best to memorize the license plate.
But holy **** this guy must have balls the size of grape fruits!

The Michael Bryant - Allan Sheppard Bicycle Incident: Update Charges Dropped 5/25/10
Did anyone see this or was in the area at the time?
http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/689126A cyclist was critically injured when he hung onto a fleeing car in a hit-and-run on a downtown street Monday night, police say.
Toronto police arrested a driver moments after the car was seen pulling into Hyatt hotel on Avenue Rd., about two blocks from the accident.
Witnesses told police the cyclist collided with a black Saab on Bloor St. W., at Bay St. at about 9:45 p.m.
Dozens of witnesses couldn't believe what they were seeing as the cyclist hung onto the driver's side of the car with its convertible top down and the driver yelling at him to get off the car.
In a bid to shake the cyclist off the car, the driver veered onto the eastbound lanes and mounted the curb brushing against trees and poles, a witness said.
"He was driving on the wrong side of the street and up on the curb trying to knock him off the car for about 100 metres. Lots of people were watching and they couldn't believe what was happening," said Ryan Brazeau, a worker with a crew laying sewer pipes down the middle of Bloor St.
As the car approached Avenue Rd., the cyclist fell off and was run over by the rear wheels of the car.
The car continued on about two blocks to the circular drive of the hotel where police say they arrested the male driver.
The Saab clearly had damage to the driver's side.
Witnesses said the incident began on Bloor St. as a minor collision between a car and a cyclist.
The cyclist was taken to St. Michael's Hospital with severe head injuries.
Police closed off Bloor St. from Bay St. to Avenue Rd. in both directions as officers investigated.
This is insane. Will motorists and bicyclists ever get along?

A cyclist was killed last night after hanging onto a fleeing car following a collision on Bloor St. near Bay St.
Toronto police arrested a driver after the car was seen pulling into the Park Hyatt hotel on Avenue Rd.
Witnesses told police the cyclist collided with a black Saab on Bloor at Bay about 9:45 p.m. They said he hung onto the driver's side of the car, which had its convertible top down, while the driver yelled at him to get off.
The driver then veered onto the eastbound lanes and mounted the curb, brushing against trees and poles, witnesses said.
"He was driving on the wrong side of the street and up on the curb trying to knock him off the car for about 100 metres, said Ryan Brazeau, a worker with a crew laying sewer pipes on Bloor. "Lots of people were watching and they couldn't believe what was happening."
As the car approached Avenue Rd., the cyclist fell off. He and his bike were dragged before he was run over by the rear wheels.
He was taken to St. Michael's Hospital with severe head injuries.

oh this is gonna cause a sheetstorm.
I agree that cyclists take too many liberties, but i treat them as pedestrians and am cautious around them.
The guy in the Saab should have known better.

Wow...I guess he caused enough commotion that the idiot Saab driver got busted, but he paid the ultimate price for attempting movie star stunts. Hopefully justice gets served.
There really isn't any place cyclists can ride without incident these days.

How has the province not introduced Bicycle Insurance similar to Car Insurance?
Would seem like a great cash cow.

I walked by there around 10:45 so I saw the cops and CP24, but little did I know the mayhem that occured here.
Too bad to see the guy die. The eyewitnesses must've seen something spectacular.

You can't blame the cyclist, he did what he did in the heat of the moment. I bet he wouldn't have done it if he knew he was going die, or that the driver was going to try and drive him into poles and tress, come on!

I hope the driver of this car doesn't get off with a simple hit and run.
Seems like this would be Manslaughter.
I think you can even class this as 1st degree murder cause he purposely tried to swing this guy off his car.
If he still gets to drive after this I will lose faith in the justice system completely.
