Maybe the cyclist was trying to attack the driver after a minor bump? Witness say the cyclist jumped on the car with the top down and started to attack the driver. Maybe the driver was trying to get away while fighting off the attacker. I'm sorry the cyclist died, but if he was attacking the driver then I would probably drive evasively the same way.

if this was flipped around...there would be a ban on cars in the city of Toronto...but now I think the city will be moving to a ban on Bicycles...it's just too dangerous for politicians driving their cars!

I dunno all the facts yet, 680 news this morning was reporting that the cyclist and driver got into a verbal altercation, the cyclist jumped on the car, and was dragged for about 150 m while holding onto the head rest and then slammed into a hydrant and died.
This looks real bad for the driver, and not defending him or anything but while we may know the end result we have no idea of the circumstances of the incident... I would need more details of this "altercation" before I can form an opinion._______________

Dude, if someone is pounding on your head you would try to flee not stop and get beat up.
http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/689220Burrows would not confirm witness reports the cyclist jumped on the car after a collision around 9:45 p.m. on Bloor St., just west of St. Thomas St., and began fighting with the driver of a black Saab.

Its possible. Its too early for comments as "I hope this SOB gets 10-20 years". Wait for the investigation to complete and the whole story to come out first.
