Michelin vs Continental

I'm considering winter tires for my small sedan.
I'm considering Michelin xice 3 or Continental VikingContacts 7.

Contis are $50 cheaper.
Ant thoughts?

xice 3 has been on the market for a long while now. Viking C7 is new for this year (replacing wintercontact si). I see favorable reviews for the conti.

Michelin xice 3 is not good in slushy conditons
i had continental winter contact si and was quite satisfied. very balanced tire in all aspects
i really wanted to buy viking contact this year but did not for only one reason. tread depth seems to be 10/32 which made me not buy it

Getting the Viking7s installed on my wife's car this weekend. They have consistently been top ranked on the Norweigan Automobile Federation test. (The one that made Nokian famous.) Came in 1st in the 2018 test (vs 7th for the Micehlin) and repeated on the 2019 test. Can't find the link for the 2019 test right now, but, these people are nice enough to translate and summarize the 2018 test. http://www.skstuds.ca/2019/02/14/2018s- ... #more-1170

I've also been running the older WinterContact SI on my daily and been very happy with them.

Seems like Contis are sold out.

I installed VikingContact7 last week. Compare to my previous set x-ice, vikingContact7 is Much quieter on dry road. Handled really well in yesterdays snow fall, on Fresh snow and on slush. I like much more than x-ice. I like the tread pattern too. Got them fromCEO tire. Good price and fast install.

Just ordered a set of Vikings from PMCtire. Good price and free shipping. The local dealers did not want to price match, so TFB for them.

The Vikings are consistently ranked top among studless winter tyres in Scandinavian and Russian tests.

I have Contis Winter contact that was purchased via CT clearance. Overall very satisfied. We have very icy road conditions here in our area and they have proven to be at par with my previous set which were studded.
one more deal and I'm out * involuntary tick*....
