Too bad no Dell 11" to 13" touch screen ultrabooks/laptops. Was looking for something with a SSD combo too.

If I helped in any way, click that cool little "Thanks" button.

Sonick you da man. Timing was perfect. I just logged onto RFD saw your post, checked out the MS site, confirmed with my friend if the Dell z15 was a good deal for my 13 year old daughter and pulled the trigger!!!

Thanks for the post and thank you MS for a site that worked flawlessly!!!!!

Can't decide between the 15z and the XPS 12, damn!

The only things right now I'm debating are:

- the weight 4.7 (15z) vs 3.2 lbs (XPS12)
- Processor (3rd gen on 15z) vs 4th gen on XPS12
- 1376x768 on the 15z and 1080p display on XPS12
- 6GB ram on the 15z and 4GB on XPS12
- 7 hrs battery life on 15z vs 8.5hrs on XPS12
- Fold down tablet option on XPS12

My questions are, is RAM that important in Windows 8? I don't always have a ton of apps open.

To me the important things are:

- battery life, good screen, light and plays HD videos without any hiccups.

So I know on paper for my choices the XPS12 is great, but is it worth the extra $300 and has this been cheaper than $699 before?

Unless you really need 1080p screen and weight is a concern, save the $300 and get the Dell. You can use that $300 to get a Surface or something. :P

Ram is important for Windows 8. That said, i bought an XPS12 just because i was interested in it for a while and this is by far the lowest price. Wasn't actually planning on buying a laptop or anything but bought it anyways. Will probably hear about it from my gf later once i tell her lol.

Speaking from past experience, there is a difference in terms of build quality between regular line (have a 17" regular) and XPS line. XPS generally feel much better and are extremely durable. My XPS 12.1" from highschool still works flawlessly now (tho battery life is down to like 2 hours?). I rarely use it now (replaced by a Macbook, which has since been replaced by a MBA... basically my last Windows laptop) tho i did open it the other day 'cause i wanted to watch an AHL game and didn't have any extra screen/too lazy to grab my macbook.
