Costco.ca has $50 Xbox card for 44.99 so u save 5 dollars, use that to pay for the xbox live gold on Microsoft site.. Then again I am seeing conflicting things about this. Some say u cannot use Xbox gift card to purchase Xbox Live gold, some say you can... Can someone verify this?
You can use the point cards...I just did.

Thanks OP this worked for me and using all the costco master pass discounts from Dec I saved another 30% off the $46...woo and hoo

Do I check on the console? Or computer?

Pretty sure I got a notice mine expires near the end of this month.

Thanks

Any reason why it says on the Xbox website that you can't?
What's the real answer??

My answer is correct. Here is the emailed I received after I bought

Hi xxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for your Xbox Live Gold subscription.

We've charged CAD $51.42 to Microsoft account balance for your Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Automatic billing will happen every 12 months at CAD $69.99 plus applicable taxes. You can see your subscription information, change how you pay or cancel at any time.

edit...for some strange reason they charged me 14% tax. Best to change your address to AB

Yikes, why did they charge tax. I've never been charged tax when I buy digital games off the site. Or is this just because of Xbox Live gold.

Just checked, I get charged tax as well, weird. Aw well 51 dollars, paid 45 for 50 bucks,

Thanks for the heads up on this. Can renew my sub before this deal expires (hopefully). I still have free month code to use up when I got the Xbox One X a couple weeks ago from the Doritos/Mountain Dew contest. Almost forgot about that...

Really? I've always been charged tax. Are you using an ON address on your account?

Op, this has been discussed multiple times on the forum. This deal is YMMV and only available to some. Mostly to those who are expiring soon or already expired.

There is no deal here.
First time I’ve seen and look everyday at RFD hot deals. I for one appreciate the OP posting as my account had the deal waiting for me and that’s not an account I check each day. Settle down, it’s a deal for many don’t be sour.

Can you please copy/paste a recent receipt? the one they email. Not saying I don't believe you but I would like to see how the receipt reads. Mine clearly states that they are a HST/GST registrant.

Thanks OP, worked here too. Likely because I just cancelled last month.

I actually didn't even realize I paid tax on my purchases, sorry about the confusion. I definitely paid tax. I think psn was the one I never paid tax on purchases

OK thx, PSN should be tax free, I think the tax rule relates to having a Brick and Mortar location in the province.

Not sure why they charged me 14% though; not worth my time to call
