Newbie
Have a question, so currently I'm running Windows Vista Basic from my Dell machine and was wondering if I can upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate through this offer and then get the free upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate when it comes out?

Office 2007 installs on 3 computers
Maybe you guys knew this already..but something I discovered today:
With the ultimate steal..we're allowed to install on 3 computers. Earlier in the thread, someone mentioned 1 desktop & 1 portable machine. But I was on the phone with MS today & the lady told me with the ultimate steal, it allows one extra computer- so 3 in total we can install on.
I was afraid to screw up my other two licenses, so I never tried..but it turns out we're allowed 3.
Anyway, perhaps this is old new..but maybe this helps somebody.

sure, you can do whatever you want. But earlier in the thread, someone was asking what the licensing agreement allows & someone responded that you can install on 2 PCs. I just wanted to share that I found out, in fact the licensing agreement is for 3 PCs (which is unique only to ultimate steal..i'm told).

my mistake then. The lady told me normally it's 2 computers (main & portable)..but with ultimate steal (or maybe she was referring to office ultimate vs office pro..) it's an extra license.
btw- if you did create images of your pc & used on a large # of pcs...wouldn't you run into problems with updates etc?
