Minivan Rental - Fri to Mon - unlimited mileage
Hey there..I have looked through most of the the threads and am still confused. I am looking to rent a minivan this Friday until Monday. I am looking for some advice as to how to get a cheaper rental which has unlimited km's. I am located in Burlington, ON but can pick up from anywhere between Toronto and Hamilton.
Any ideas? I have registered for the Hertz Gold.....most of the rentals have limits on the km's. I am looking to put almost 3,000 km on the vehicle so km are very important to me........
Thanks so much!!!

Search in the "Hot Deals" forum for "Thrifty" and you will find a thread with an Eservus code for $50/day before taxes with unlimited mileage within Ontario (and possibly Quebec). That will turn out to be cheaper than the Hertz deal mentioned above.
It may also be more convenient for you to rent from Union Stn's Thrifty if you can take the GO train to downtown TO.

I actually used expedia and got a price of $287.88 (taxes in) for the 4 days .....So, I booked last night and I received my itinerary via email. I noticed there was no mention of the unlimited mileage so for some reason I decided to call Expedia to confirm. I called this morning and they confirmed that although it states "unlimited mileage" while booking (the customer service rep at expedia could also see this on her screen)...the confirmation that ENTERPRISE sent them back only allowed 200KM / day free then $0.15/km. I was PISSED!!!! I asked to speak to a manager at Expedia who only could say that the prices that were on the website were from ENTERPRISE and not that of Expedia. They called ENTERPRISE and confirmed that there was no unlimited mileage offered with my booking. I asked if there was anything that could be done as told them I only decided to call to make sure about the unlimited mileage. They said they are only able to make adjustments or make changes to bookings for hotels, and not car rentals. The point I was trying to make was that if I had not called and just taken the rental based on what the website had indicated (which clearly stated unlimited mileage) I would have bee screwed. I would gone over the limit by more than 2200 km's. Anyways...sorry to complain!! In the end they cancelled my reservation. As I leave tomorrow morning I just booked using AEROPLAN points ........I wish I had more time. Thanks very much to all for your advice. I will take a look at Thrifty as well for next time!!!
