. But I did get mine for $149 only ($199 - $30 eCert then got the $20 price adjusted). Can't be too greedy, I guess.
What's the $20? how did you get it?

Assuming you hacking the unit...
If the battery on the unit runs out, do you have to re-hack it again??
I have a C310, hacked it but as soon as the battery runs out i have to do the whole thing over again....

So that means that once I install MIOPocket, I can choose to go the Moimap route or the Teleatlas route ? If yes, how do I do that ?
And finally, in your opinion, which one is better ?
MioMap also uses "TeleAtlas" map. I said that the link I posted for TeleAtlas 2008 is for iGo, NOT for MioMap. The map I posted for MioMap is 2007.
MioPocket just unlocks the device, and you have to install other navigation software (like iGo, TomoTom) yourself. Many people think iGo 8 is better than MioMap (based on iGo 2006).

I ordered when the price was $199. I then applied the eCert ($30 off) and made it $169. When the price came down to $179 ($20 off), I phoned in and had the price adjusted w/o problem (=> $149).

You are right, after a hard reset, all hacking are gone. If you are using MioPocket in SD card, simply push in the SD card, and it unlocks C520 again. The "whole thing" just takes around 1 minute and similar to turning on your computer.
Read this in "MioPocket Readme": "Install the files to either your SD card or your flash drive, not to the default of \Program Files, since files there will be lost upon hard reset."

Thanks for posting the deal
Hi everyone,
thanks for posting this deal.
I bought two of these, one for my parents and one for me. (1@$179, 1@$161)
Great value for a 4.3" GPS with TTS & Bluetooth.
I have hacked around with the unit and would like to share my experience:
The Miopocket unlocks the Windows CE, allows the user to customize their "desktop" with shortcuts to programs and etc.
One can run Miopocket off the SD card, which installs everything onto the memory. When the GPS is shutdown(or runs out of battery), the memory gets erased and one would have to "re-install" to run Miopocket again. Thus most people just have the unit run on standby mode when not in use. (Not sure how much drain that is on the battery)
For convenience, I installed the Miopocket onto the 2GB internal storage. The maps for the GPS took about 1.7GB of space, so to make room for Miopocket, I had to remove some American maps. (The Canadian map for Miomap is only about 100+ MB)
The Miopocket has shortcuts on the "desktop" to Tomtom, IGO, and other navigation softwares, but the actual programs are not installed.
One would have to obtain them and transfer them onto the GPS using USB cable or SD card. Be sure to place them in the appropriate folders so that the shortcuts will work.
Google "gps underground" for info on navigation software and maps.

So there's noway to keep Miopocket installed after a hard reset? doesn't matter whether you run it off the sd card or internal storage?

Some details on how you added the maps would be appreciated.

eCert not working
Has the eCert expired, or do you have to be on an email list to use it? Or does anyone have another eCert?

How do you get one of these ecertificates?
Never mind. I read through all the pages and got the answer. Has anyone been able to call in their order and got a CSR to accept the ecert?

Calvinsea, another question for you. I've unlocked with the Simple Unlock Deluxe skin and am using the same iGO 8 version map as you said earlier. I would like to add a car as a navigation cursor and have thought about dloading the diMka skin (light and dark). Is this the only one for 480X272?
http://artwork-igo8.blogspot.com/sea...r%20collection
with the simple unlock deluxe must i delete it first and then install the diMka?
help again appreciated..

1. There are many 480x272 skins for iGo8. I download diMka skin (for iGo8.0.xxx and iGo8.3.xxx) from here. This is the "Ultra Skin". This is iGo 8.3 GURJON skin. Another: GlikoGliko's TTSKIN. If you have time, read through this post for iGo 8 skins.
2. I tried "Simple Unlock Delux" (it is a unlock program like MioPocket, not a skin for iGo8), but deleted it, and use MioPocket now. You need to unlock C520 first by either "Simple Unlock Delux", or "MioPocket" or any other unlock program, if you want to install iGo8 (with different skins).

Navigon on Mio c520
Thanks everyoe for the input, especially Calvinsea! I have had this GPS for a about week now. Loving it! In my opinion, this is the best GPS I have played with so far. I have successfully installed Miopocket, iGo 8.0 and iGO 8.3.1. It's working great. Now I want to explore a bit more. Has anyone successfully installed Navigon mobile navigator on this GPS or other similar Mio models? Thanks!
