Without a doubt 17's look too small for the car in most cases. You got a good setup, no brainer for $150 more. I would've imagined it would be much more for wheels and tires.

Would you guess these are 17's? Loving the meaty tire look.

What are the specs for that tire/wheel combo? Looks good

I hear you.. after all these are just replica’s...

In my case I live around square one area and drive very little.
I find Sauga to be extremely well maintained so I rarely run into potholes...

I will however be extremely cautious when I venture outside the area... like Scarborough LOL or just Toronto in general

Is the new 7-speed DSG gearbox for the GTI wet or dry clutch?

Wet clutch so it'll be able to handle more power with a stage 1 TCU tune.

Just saw a 2018 Golf TSI on the road.
The top of the line trim has the same headlights as the Autobahn GTI. I'm so upset lol. Can't believe the fully loaded Golf has better headlights than the base GTI lol. Only reason I got my Autobahn were because of the cool high end LED headlights.
There needs to be more seperation between pedestrian golf's, GTI's and R's.....

Well, that fully loaded Golf is nearly like $30k, which is not far from the base model GTI. You could've gotten aftermarket headlights if that was the only thing holding you back.

Each version of the Golf with the LED headlights has its own colour stripe within the headlight. Golf is chrome, GTI is red, R is black. 2019 GTI base headlights will have red stripe and are miles better than the MK7 halogen headlights, let's not forget that.

Does anyone know if we can start ordering the new 2019 Golf GTI Rabbit Edition? I want to pop by to the local dealer to check it in person.

It is already on the VW website @ 33995$ so I am assuming that you can order it now. As for ETA on delivery... no idea.

Looks like we don't have too much to worry about the Golf getting the smaller engine.
Those factors helped the Golf achieve its highest fuel-economy ratings of any gasoline-powered Golf yet, with an EPA-estimated 32 mpg combined for the 2019 models (automatic or manual) compared to 28 mpg for the automatic-equipped 2018 Golf and 29 mpg for the 2018 manual. We got very close to that combined number over nearly 900 miles of driving, averaging 31 mpg overall. And on our 75-mph highway test loop, we saw 43 mpg, beating the EPA highway estimate by a huge 6 mpg.

Even better, despite the loss of power and torque, acceleration from a stop keeps pace with the last automatic-equipped Golf we tested, a 2018 Golf SE. The 2019 car reached 60 mph in 7.6 seconds (versus 7.7 for the 2018 model) and matched its predecessor in the quarter-mile at 15.9 seconds, its 88-mph trap speed lower by 1 mph. During passing exercises, the smaller engine's relative weakness is more apparent, as it needs 4.3 seconds to go from 30 to 50 mph, 0.6 second longer than before, and 5.4 seconds to hustle from 50 to 70 mph, a 0.2-second increase. That said, while there's not much power, neither is there much lag in its delivery. Overall, we'd characterize the new turbo four's output as sufficient.

VW is cutting corners compared to previous years. They're using cheaper materials, reduce the no. of speakers and the Golf used to have rear air vents. Now it's only on the highest trim. Imho, MY2016 was the best year for features and options for the Golf.

And DAP should be standard.

They're already available for sale. Some are getting delivered next week. Better act fast, looks like the Rabbit is going back to limited production again.

How do you know it's a limited run for the rabbit? I know it is the case for the US.

US is 3000 units. Canada is unlimited per this article
https://www.auto123.com/en/news/2019-vo ... ada/65082/
https://www.auto123.com/en/news/erratum ... BsE79TF8nU
We have received a correction from VW Canada’s head of communications, stating that in fact the Canadian market would only get 900 units of the model, set to hit the market in 2019.
