MLPPP Asus router setup page
How to flash an ASUS router:
Things you need before you start:
TFTP2 - MODEM TOOL
- a pen/pencil [/b]
- MLPPP firmware of your choice. the firmware file you want are the ones that end with .TRX.
1) Connect all the Ethernet wires but do not connect the power cord yet
2) go to Control Panel > Network sharing (vista)/Local area network (xp) > Manage network connections (vista only) > Right click on Local Area connection and choose properties
3) double click on (TCP/Ipv4) [note: it is important to choose IPv4 if you are a vista or xp user] and set the following
Use the following IP address:
IP: 192.168.1.100
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1
User the following DNS server addresses:
preferred DNS server: 192.168.1.1
Alternate DNS server: 0.0.0.0
press ok
4) open tftp2 and click browse. then locate and select the mlppp firmware that ends with .TRX and press ok or open.
set the server ip address field to 192.168.1.1 then go to your router.
5) use a pen/pencil and push down on the "reset" or "restore" button at the back of the router as you connect the power cord into the router.
6) Keep holding down on the reset button for another 8 seconds or so until your windows systray icon shows that there's limited internet connectivity and your modem power light has a slow blink. once you see these 2 signs you can release the button.
7) after releasing the "reset" or "restore" button from the back of the router go back to your computer and click the upgrade button in tftp2 then wait.
you should see a progress bar followed by a message that says firmware upgrade is complete. Note: Do not power off your computer or the router or disconnect any Ethernet cord in this process.
8) unplug the power cord to your router and wait 10 seconds then plug the power cord back in.
8) once the back up is done give it another 20-30 seconds for the router to restart with the new firmware.
9) go to Control Panel > Network sharing (vista)/Local area network (xp) > Manage network connections (vista only) > Right click on Local Area connection and choose properties...
10) double click on (TCP/Ipv4) [note: it is important to choose IPv4 if you are a vista or xp user] and set it back to "obtain ip address automatically" and set your dns settings to "obtain the dns server address automatically" then click ok until you are back at your dekstop.
10) Pop up your browser and type in 192.168.1.1
your username will be "root" and your password will be "admin"
11. configure your router as followed on your desired mlppp firmware homepages documentation pages on setup and configuration.
CONGRATS YOUR ALL DONE!!

Mlppp linksys router setup page
HOW TO FLASH YOUR WRT54xx FROM STOCK FIRMWARE.
1. flash linksys stock firmware back from http://www.linksys.com/support in the downloads
2. hard reset by pressing the reset button on the back of the router after a successful flash for 20 seconds.
3. download and flash the latest mlppp modified Tomato/MLPPP v2 at
Tomato/MLPPP
Multilink support for consumer routers
Tomato/MLPPP 1.25-mp3alpha6
4. access the newly flashed router in your browser at address 192.168.1.1 or .100(depends on previous firmware) using username "root" and password "admin" to login
5. click "administration" on the left then click "configuration" and then select from the dropdown box under "Restore Default Configuration" and click on "Erase all data NVRAM (thorough) then click ok.
***NOTE*** step 5 is very important this ensures all traces of the previous firmware are totally gone.
6. access the router again using the settings from step 4. then click "basic" then "network" on the left.
7. select "pppoe" under type from the drop down box.
input your username and password provided by your ISP. under "MultilinkPPP" select "single link" if you have one dsl modem and line(MUST BE FROM TSI OR VELCOM. select "multiple links" if you have a second dsl modem and line(CAN BE FRORM ANY ISP).
8. click save. cycle power and voila all done.
***NOTE*** only the first dsl line that is used for logging in needs to be from TSI or Velcom. the second dsl line can be from any ISP. well we need is dsl active on the line. wet or dry dont matter as long as the modem on the second line has dsl synch you are good to go. because we are using only 1 login on both lines either TSI's or Velcom's login only.
9 verify your mlppp is enabled by testing with torrents or by going to http://www.speedtest.net and clicking the closest location to you. then watch your speed meter and pay attention to your upstream
The major pro if doing both dsl lines from TSI is TSI will combine both logins into 1 and will double your monthly bandwidth to 400 gigs instead of 200gigs with 1 line from TSI.
