Rep said he can't use points for upfront cost
try to see if the agent lets you pay most of the tab portion upfront so you will not pay tax on it

If you want to pay with points, you must have the points in your account before completing the transaction. The 300,000 points are only provided after the transaction has completed.

Got one. Points added 300000. Have an old phone to rep, he said he will be adding 500000 PC points for trade in on Monday. Rep said eve. If we pay tab now it has to go through koodo so there will be tax.

I didn't understand calculation.
I saw total : 130$
I redeemed$60 with my PC master card points

I paid 63.49$ as final payment.

Wow.. The extra 100k pc points is better than the WOW $50 trade-in credit. I will self-refer myself and get $50 bill credit.

$170 upfront (updated)
$240 tab
$10 SIM card
$45 + $10 seasonal hold, $10 extra in case taking a bit longer to get seasonal hold
subtotal = $475
$23.75 AB tax for $475 (I live in AB)
$498.75 Total with AB tax
less: $300 pc points + 10 SIM card + $45 seasonal hold + tax
Less: $50 (self-refer myself from my existing Koodo account)
Net $150 rounded
Add another $39+tax if I cannot switch to seasonal hold ($28 plan -$15) x3
OP says $120 ... was that incorrect?
ooma home phone
1x fongo
2x Telus prepaid plan
1x Zoomer $36 plan
2x koodo $30 plan, 2x koodo $28

Got one on small tab here in Winnipeg at the Regent store. Was supposedly the last one left.

Got the 300,000 PC Plus points and the rep let me pay the $120 with my points so $240 tab left and 180,000 net points added to my PC Plus.

Wow, you got half a million points for a trade in? Or are they starting that process on Monday? That'll be even hotter of a deal!
If that deal exists on Monday, it maybe better to wait until then vs doing a trade in with Wow Mobile or waiting for a new deal.
That's $500 vs $300 (300K points) on Monday and the phone will be practically free with a crap phone trade in that's worth nothing.

Thanks to RFD for helping me with spending money, I feel so poor now!

Picked one up earlier today at RCSS on Oxford street west in London.

Rep allowed me to pay the 120 upfront cost for the phone and the sim card cost using points.

Walked out with 180000 points and a phone.

Also, my contract does NOT have the "Are there conditions with any offers I receive from Koodo?" section either, for those who are curious.

Doesn't seem like you got the upfront tax free then.
I could only put 100k of the upfront on PC points since since pretax amount came to 106.xx. for some odd reason I was only charged $3 for the SIM card instead of $10.
So my upfront was $23.xx and 100k PC points plus I received 300k PC points.
Not bad. Thanks OP.

The promo is for 300000 points. Upfront cost of the phone is 120 dollars. That is equivalent to 120000 points. I paid with that instead and took 180000 points on my PC plus card.

How did you get 400000 points And only pay 23ish dollars?

My final upfront was: $123.49 (and paid as 100K PC points + $23.49 on CC) + I got 300K in PC points.
Technically, PC points can only be used on amount before tax (which in this case, it would be $106.50 + $13.50 HST) - so it is interesting that you paid 120K in PC Points for your upfronts .
Unless my guy scewed up - and there wouldn't have been any tax on the upfronts to begin with, in which case, I got screwed a tiny bit (by not being to use PCPoiints for the whole 120K)
