[Mobilicity] Mobilicity 21Mbps Premium data add ons $20 for 20GB

I just don't understand why every Canada carrier follow Rogers 6GB in the past 4 years, Belus have $30/6GB for retention or $75 fab10, now mobilicity follows for their "unlimited" plan to 6GB, can't they just give out a 10GB instead

Looks like Mobilicity is all done testing their new network and ready for the new “4G 21 Mbps” downlaod speeds. According to this internal doc they’ll go live “next week” and also offer up some new data add-ons, plus the Huawei E366 data stick for $79.99. Below are all the details we’ve received:

**New** Premium Data Add On
· $20/month
· 20GB of data/month
· Get their fastest network speeds on their 4G network
· Add-on available to new and existing customers
· Add-on only available on the rate card plans: $25,$35,$45 & $55

Existing Data Customers
· Existing unlimited data is being renamed Basic Unlimited Data
· 6GB usage threshold applied for all existing data customers
· After 6GB, usage will continue to be unlimited, but speeds may be reduced until their next due date
· Existing customers can purchase the new premium data add-on but they must be on one of the regular rate card plans

**New** Premium Mobile Data Internet plan
· $50/month
· 20GB of data/month
· Get their fastest network speeds on their 4G network
· Add-on available to new and existing customers

Existing Basic Mobile Internet Plan
· Existing Mobile internet plans will be grandfather and replaced with the Basic Mobile Internet Plan
· New customer pricing of existing basic Mobile Internet plan is $35 ($5 less than our current pricing)
· 6GB usage threshold applied for all existing and new data customers on the Basic Mobile Internet Plan

Huawei E366 Premium Data Stick:
· $79.99
· New data stick for use with Premium Mobile internet plan
· Basic Data Stick is still available for only $59.99 while supplies last, but can ONLY be used on the Basic Mobile Data Internet Plan

well you can add on 20GB of premium full speed data for $20, provided you have a plan over $25 ;)

What kills me is that they are doing this with a network full of dead spots...who would bother?

Does this mean there will be essentially three speeds?
4G, 3G and then the throttled speeds?

I can't say I'm surprised, I didn't think they could possibly provide "unlimited data!!!' to every person that signed a discount plan. Would be too much congestion.

Is this correct: So after you get the Huawei E366 Premium Data Stick for $79.99, then you'll just pay $20/m for 20GB of 4G data?

It's already p!ss-poor. How much further could they reduce it?

Nope. If you do not have a voice plan you have to pay for the mobile internet plan, which will cost $35 for the 6GB plan, and $50 for the 20GB plan.

Actually, if they're throttling after 6gb does that mean they're stopping the "throttling if you download more than 15mb in 15 minutes" they previously had in effect?

Your download speed just increased and you don't need to pay for it, how is that nothing?

It's a good deal for 20GB of unthrottled data. I'd pay for 6GB of premium data if it was an option.

They pretty much kept their promise.
From the wording it's automatically given.

Basic is full 21Mbps limited to 6GB then throttled after
Premium is full 21Mbps limited to 20GB then throttled after.
