So is this on a contract or what? Could I get $12.50 for 6 months then stop or do I have to go for 12 months?

Anyone know how long this deal will be offered? I'm on contract until Nov. 14, but Telus is nice enough to insist that I pay for the entire month's service, even though I wouldn't be using their service for half the month!
So sick of the big 3. Looking forward to trying out Mobilicity...

I agree, I went a small African movie rental shop that was an authorized Mobilicity dealer.
I already had an existing plan and number, yet he was able to bend the rules around for me, let me keep the same number and I got the 50% off my plan, +the discount for linking your credit card for monthly payments. I now pay under $18 for unlimited talk/text/data. I always keep $10 in my roaming account incase I need it. Signal is pretty good in Ottawa though, it's just the Orleans area that suffers, but I'm never in Orleans.
I also got a free sim, I ended up somehow frying the sim, and he gave me another one for free._______________
Oh why did I choose this username ):

If I sign up these deal (say, for $45 rate plan) and I'll receive 50% off regular rate plans for 12 months. After 1 month of usage and if the service is not good for me, can I cancel the plan? any penalties? or I've to pay $45 instead of $22.50?

I was with Rogers for 9 years, switched to Wind's $40 canada wide talk/text/data, then took the Mobilicity promo - all plans $30 and obviously went for the top one. I'm getting fed up with the reception, but you get what you pay for.
It's simple, if you stay in the city you should be OK. Except for going to stores, underground, sometimes in the house, etc. I was left with no signal several times when I really needed to use my phone. So if you can deal with it, go for it. I'm waiting to see what my corporate rate is and probably switch.
Good luck to ya.

No, it is not a contract.
$12.50 (was $25) Plan & $17.50 (was $35) Plan are available on a 6-months Pre-authorized Credit/Debit Payment only.
$22.50 (was $45) Plan & $27.50 (was $55) Plan available on a 12-months Pre-authorized Credit/Debit Payment only.
Light Data is 1) Social Networking + Email or 2) BBM + Email
*Just a heads up. They don't notify you when your plan is about to expired.
So make sure your are keeping an eye out for new promos when you have 1-2 months left.
You may be charged with a $15 fee for switching plans it varies though.
