Carrytel is better. 30$ for 50M DSL internet and price won't change.

It's CIK Telecom since it's in Quebec.

If it's ciktel stay far far away. I was getting throttled because j was using "too much" internet. Can't understand how I can be using too much of something that is unlimited. I was being brought down to 4 or 5M regularly. Trust me when I say stay away especially if you are using eye pee tv.

Companies still throttle ? That's crazy... They should be on a black list.

I'm on 60/10 profile with my provider. I do anywhere between 800GB to 1.2TB per month (family of 4 with teens, gaming, VOIP, eye pee TV, and a few downloads, etc..), and I have never had any complaints or throttling.

Which provider are you with? 1.2TB seems like you and your family are heavy users lol

Provider, I am using Altimatel for nearly 2 years now. They are based in Montreal, and so far, I have referred quite a few friends and colleagues and everyone has been happy.

It's not difficult to hit 1.2TB if you have switched all your services to IP based and have kids that love to game.

"EYE pee TV" does suck up a decent amount. But month of December kids were off. And therefore online gaming went up. And both kids update their Steam game library, it takes a huge hit.
Games are HUGE nowadays... Gone are the single floppy version of "Leisure suit larry" from back in my days :)
Final Fantasy 15 is 85GB for the base game, combined with another 63GB optional high-resolution pack to make the install a whopping 148GB.
The Call of Duty games are enormous; Black Ops 3 is a 113GB and Infinite Warfare is 101GB.
Middle-earth Shadow of War is 95GB when you install the high-res texture pack, & base Grand Theft Auto 5 is 76GB
Games are huge nowadays, and even some of the patches are huge. Example: COD BO4 had a day 1 patch of just over 50GB. ie: even if you bought a physical copy of the game you still needed to download a 50GB patch.

And in my case, that is always x2, since they each have their own PC in their room (and in "some" cases, they each have a copy). Yes, I can probably avoid the x2 by manually copying the files over the internal network (or USB disk), or using something like gamepipe, but just too lazy.

ON vdsl is $35, not as good as wordline 12 months free but still the best DSL plan in Ontario and Quebec now. Do you know which modem they offered? Is it ZTE wireless AC or the crappy Technicolor 588v?

Technicolor 588v is Carrytel crappy Modem, can't even get 30m on wifi. The agent told me is SmartRg 616 Ac modem.
