usually the people will post up descriptions and screenshots, so even if the game is all japanese you can usually figure out whats what

recently i got Angeraze 2, not bad

If you have an Xbox, try Panzer Dragoon Orta. Fantastic game, that's somewhere in between 2D and 3D in complexity.

For pure 2D shooting bliss though, Ikuraga is where it's at. There's a Gamecube and a Dreamcast version. It's probably the best 2D shooter made in the last few years.

there's a game on the DS called nanostray.. but it's REALLY short i found it pretty fun while it lasted though, but it doesn't really compare to any of those classics.

Arcade version of UN Squadron was awesome.. Quarter at the arcade last you 15-20mins of play.

i used to play that game tooo much.
wasted so many quarters on that. Got pretty good too... But not as good as some other crazy ppl i see passing the game on a single quarter O_O
